That i should backcomb some more and put some wax in my dreads. The girl never had dreads in her life, and for some reason people think dreads magically appear and look great. Yes i backcombed but not a lot, just the roots. Oh well im doing the best i can... I dont care ill still go out in public with my little head band dreads looking good or not. just thought it was funny that people think dreads will look good in 3 weeks lol..
get used to stupid ass people teling you how to "fix" your hair. oh, and don't listen to them either.
Oh i know, it was just funny because she's like i can help you fix it, and im like no u never had dreads before and your not touching my hair with a COMB.. I think there just fine i have some great ones on the bottom that are knotting really nicely and look great.. I just wanted to share the ignorance of some people, especially the people who never had dreads in there life, and have some image on how they should look.
im actually doing a little photo shoot with my hubby and doggies today, and i will be posting those pics up when where all done So those will be my updated dredie pics..
this happens a lot, it gets really annoying after a while. ive learned to deal with it in a way, im sure you will too
yeah i had a lady down the street (shes originally from kenya) telling me that i need to use wax and twist my dreads and she was looking at my whispy roots doing their thing and i could tell she was thing 'wah the fah'
LOL I know a lot of people look at me like What the Fah is up with her hair.. maybe i should just cake on the wax and backcomb will my scull is bloody
a couple years back at the odunde fest here (philly has the biggest odunde fest outside of africa (odunde is the african new year)) there was a gooofy looking loctition passing out her flyers for her business, (she was very pretty but the rainbow colored synthetic dreads and extreme overuse of makeup made her look like a clown) she handed me a card saying call me i can help you fix your dreads. this was when they were at least 16-17 years old. as im asking her whats wrong with my dreads, about 10 or 15 people stop by to admire my dreads (this fest draws in thousands of rastas and is blocks and blocks and blocks of dreads) i just found it funny how all these o;ld school dreads were admirring my dreads while shes trying to tell me they needed fixing. jah levi once told me , let jah take care of yoir dreads and your dreads will take care of you. jah never dropped by to smear wax on my head, so i figure i never needed it.
lol^i love going to festivals and seeing all the locks. i saw some awesome ones on sunday. it just makes me wonder where these people hide the rest of the time.
We went to a music fest this weekend and I got alot of compliments on my locks...to the point where I would take two steps, get a comment, take two more steps, get a comment. It was great for my ego. The best compliment was from a security guard that was from Jamaica; I could have listened to him talk all night.
