dumbbell weights

    if i get a set of adjustable dumbbells for bulking up a bit, what weights should i start at/have for later use? am 5 11 and 140 pounds.

    test them out.. if you can comfortably lift 10lbs for say 10 reps(without feeling completely tired from one set).. try 15.. if that seems fine.. then go to 20... 20# should be good enough to get starter results

    PS: make sure to do lifts for both biceps and triceps when testing them out.. often times.. triceps work outs can seem a lil harder than biceps

    PS: i just bought a set of dumbbells from Walmart for $20... comes with 40# worth of weight... 4-2.5# and 4-7.5# and two dumbbell bars
