I first heard them when I play Tony Hawks Underground. Break On Through plays in the first cutscene. Then I started downloading some of their songs and they turned into my favourite band. I got my friend into The Doors too. He went from thrash metal to psychedelic and from starting fights to mellowed out. Pretty cool.
Jim did really blow, my mind... When the music is over, break on through and the end... All of them has a big and important role in my life...
Best band EVER. Legendary 60's band whose sound and message has lived through today and so on. Jim was a visionary and the Doors sound was so unique and innovative, I would give ANYTHING to have seen them live. All their albums are a masterpiece in their own. Oh and that DOORS movie is fucking LAME, just an FYI each member of the Doors hated that movie. They said Oliver Stoned depicted Jim in a completely inaccurate almost offensive light. It was cool that the movie helped turn more people onto the Doors sound, but if your interested in them read more about Jim and the rest of the guys. Jim was a true legend, a well-read poet who was wayyyyy before his time. Read Read Read Read about them, I'm telling you there is a lot more to them then that HOLLYWOOD movie. http://messageboard.thedoors.com/
i am a newish fan of the doors and jim morrison, i have to say, i listen to their songs almost everyday, they give me a sense of... the darkness sex spirituality otherworldly things poetry knowing what is bullshit. i love their music, one of my favourite bands. the end is my fav song of theirs, its got everything, its very shamanic. I LOVE THEM! blessings xxx
the doors are the shit!!!!!!!! Jim's passion towards his music and poetry is so out of this world. NO one will ever come close to the lizard king!! & might I add that they got me into psychedelic music
I love the doors sooooo much, I think they are one of the best bands that came out of the 60`s!!!!!!!!!! Their music and lyrics are pure brilliance!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Doors are sick. I highly reccomend the book "No One Here Gets Out Alive." It's a biography on Jim Morrison.
My fave tune by the Doors remains the highly underrated The Changeling.......DIG!! ..................here revisited by The Doors and Astbury https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0Be_T1NFEQ&feature=related
Simply amazing band. One of the few that can make me forget about EVERYTHING in the world and just listen. His voice is remarkably captivating. I don't think anyone mentioned the song "Peace Frog" yet, that's my favorite. Listening to it right now.
Their absolutly hundred percent amazing! No music playlist or collection is complete without them. They inspired me to be free man! wowowow i dont even have a favorite song... I cant choose
The Doors are one of my favorite bands of all time. I consider Jim Morrison one of the greatest song writers (if not the greatest) of that era. He was true poet. I also really respect his embrace of dark themes in his music for exposing the underbelly of emotions at that time. Velvet Underground was the only other band I can think of similar in that aspect. However, there's nothing like The Doors... Truly hypnotic and unique.
