Your response to homophobic remarks?

Im just being me and being curious again

But what do you say to folks that burst out a homophobic remark to you?

Do you say nothing?
or do you have a list of come backs at the ready?

What is your response?

Ive not had to deal with this yet, besides the folks that would rather walk out in front of a car than have eye contact with me, its so funny lol

 

I live in Miami Beach and work in Miami. It is a huge metropolitan area so you can expect a disproportionate amount of gay ppl than in the outlying areas.

So, we don't usually hear such language since the rubes coming here soon learn that you may likely be addressing a gay person with some influence in your well-being, be it at work or in seeking service from others.

Where I work the Executive Director is gay. The previous one was gay also. Our Director of Human Resources is Lesbian. When we have staff meetings there are at least three department directors who are gay with several other gay staff members.

No, I don't get much practice fielding homophobic remarks. Still working on a comeback for my gay brothers who tell me I'm not bisexual but just confused.

 

Depends who it's by, more often than not I will attempt to mentally pick apart whoever's saying it. It's usually not that difficult if you go down the "homophobic people are usually gay" route.

 

Hahaha yea thats sweat because even if they are not its a phycological mind f**k for them

 

I am one of those people who has a list of comebacks ready for every situation. This one included. So yeah, I'm usually prepared.

 

Give me a few examples

 

Haven't Received A Homophobic Remark In Umpteen Years...

But Back When I Did, I Always Responded With An Aggressive Raising

Of My Middle Finger.....

And An Expression On My Face, Of Pure Hate.....

Worked Every Time....

I would need to be insulted first, haha. I don't keep them on the surface, really. Just below.

 

There is no point in recognizing any degree of personal responsibility by getting moved in any way by any expression of someone's patent stupidity, whatsoever.

Frankly, most guys are rather watching their words these days. Jobs, friends, contracts and all the other good stuff is hard to come by. Alienating anyone at such times is not just stupid. It is actually very harmful.

I used to have such a negative attitude towards the str8 world, especially when i was still in the closet, i would cast away people before they would (find out about me) and cast me away...at least thats what i thought they would do.
