I've heard this, too.. and my ex boyfriend used to do it to his weed.
I never really saw any drastic changes in the freshness, though..

    Wouldn't hurt to try

Might have to do with the fact that orange peel is full of orange oil. Try this: Take an orange peel and squeeze it at a flame. See that? Awesome, huh?

They used to make explosives out of that stuff. They use it in lots of detergents now to cut grease, and disinfect.

ive heard this but ive also heard if you leave it too long that it can cause mold to grow on your weed so watch it closely if you try...ive never done it before

many types of fruit can be used to scent or flavour weed in the bag..in science...stuff that is dry will absorb moisture from stuff that is wet....if you put bread in a jar of stale brown sugar the sugar will be moist in 2 hours and the bread will be dry...a fun and educational experiment that you would have known about if you werent skipping class to get high:D

Yeah, if the weed has become too dry putting an orange peel in can moisten/freshen it up a bit. However don't leave it in the bag for too long. The peel can get moldy & in turn get the weed moldy. I don't know exactly how long it takes for this to take place, but I've never left it in there for more than 6-8 hrs. And I've never put in an entire peel either, just like a decent size piece.

Once, I bought weed where someone clearly used a lemon peel to freshen it. It burned absolutely terrible - it literally burned to smoke it, like I poured lemon juice down a ripped up throat.
Also, if it builds up visible amounts of mold for keeping it in too long, who are we to say there aren't microscopic spores all the fuck over it when you leave it in for a couple minutes/hours.

I think you'd have to be fucking retarded to do this knowing it grows mold.

There is a story that goes, uranium was being used as the basis for a erectile enhancement ale being sold by a traveling salesman. A man from Pittsburgh drank 80 little bottles of it. His jaw fell off. And this is how it was discovered that uranium was radioactive. Now, I don't believe the story (though I heard it on the History Channel ) but I think it fits well.

Why would you want to "freshen" your weed. Your weed is best when it is dry to a muhfuckin crisp :D

Sounds better than the orange peel idea.

I don't get it. It's not heard to keep your weed fresh. Keep the bag closed, toss it in your drawer when not in use.

you can do this - ive done it and it makes it a little more moist if it is too dry, that is the only reason i ever did it. it tastes pretty fine, but it was some schwag to begin with so it wasnt amazing.

i left it in overnight (8 hours?)

weed should be dry to a slight crisp on the outside, but it should have a little moisture.

If it has too low of a water content, it will not cure properly, burn very quickly, be harsh, and generally just crumble to pieces. Ideally, the stems should make a snapping sound and be slightly crispy, but the inside should have some give to it.

Depending on where you are, weed can dry out in a matter of days. An orange peel can breath a little life into it. Also, storing weed in the freezer seems to help the drying out problem and the molding problem if you live somewhere humid.

Yeah that was the crispy I was talking about but these people are actually talking about moist weed if their weed is burning slowly the way some describe it. The slow burn making the top of the weed char black instead of catching flame and burning is not how it should be and is the product of improper drying. Too many people around here buy "wet" weed. Very moist weed people call "fresh".

I would rather have my weed be crumbly than super moist.

Stems should be able to snap at a certain point but they should also have a little bit of springiness to them as well.

Also unless the weed is somewhat crispy on the outside it won't grind as well as usual and keif output lowers dramatically.

Just keep your herb in a air-tight container. Simple mason jars work good but there are containers that are literally air-tight. I think there is one brand called Tightpak or something, check it out and you will not have this problem. I just use a simple jar, though.

Don't use orange peels, they have too much moisture content, and will make your buds mold.

    Orange leaves work much better!!!
