I teach 144 kids, take care of a wife with AS, and chase four ferrets and a lab round the house. Who needs exercise?

lol it's so true about kids. Hang out with a kid full of energy for an hour and you will be drained

i dont do anything stable (used to do craploads) except stretching every morning ...i just walk LOADS and run when i feel like it...and randomly do pushup type of things here and there. nothing to get buff or something, just listen to what my body tells me

45 min jog twice a week, walk once a week, days in between I do pushups & situps.

chronic arthritis of the spine I believe.

I'm sorry about your wife's condition Jim :( I didn't even know you were married !

Same. I chase around the 4 yr old, and the dog. We have dance parties, bike rides, walks...occasionally I will do yoga- or mess around with the huge machine in the bedroom.(huge bulky thing and I mostly just use the ab leglift thing..which I don't think works as well as yoga or pilaties routines)

I really need a routine though.
Hoping to move somewhere closer to a gym and get a membership with hubby one day soon.

I used to ride my bike thirty miles each day in the weekend with my brother...
    Those were great times.

I miss my bike so much. That is probably the only thing I miss that I left behind when I moved....

Every morning I walk/jog for 3 miles. Sit-ups and leg lifts every day. Alternate push-ups and lunges every other day. Yoga every day. Pilates twice a week. Tae bo twice a week. It's a good beginning. I've been doing this for a couple months. I up it every month. Go farther, do more. I'm a real weakling right now.

    Yeah, I just got a new(used)bike, I hadn't had one in years.
When it was just me and hubby living in the city, we used to spend the whole night riding- then go down to the beach for sunrise.

Now, I am trying to figure out how I can ride bike with the kid and dog. I might buy one of those thingys to make my bike tandem with her on it.- and hubby is working on getting the dog used to running with the bike.
I doubt we will be able to ride like we used to with those two goofballs though.

I wish my family wanted to ride with me....I mean, me and my brutha man used to go everywhere together, but not any more. I always tried to get me ma just to go for a wee ride with me, we even bought her the bike she wanted, but she never would.

    :D

*I added the face in so I didn't seem so down!

That's my problem, getting people to come with. My mom says that she'll just slow me down. When I say that it's fine, she says her foot hurts. My brother, the one who wanted to walk in the morning in the first place, complains every morning, then won't go. I was even tempted to take out an add in the paper to see if anyone wants to, at least, walk with me. I'm competitive, I need someone to be better than. It pushes me.

Maybe that has something to do with why your family doesn't like going with you. Walking isn't a competition.

No, my brother starts things and doesn't finish them. It's always been that way. He gets big plans, but doesn't follow through. My mom, does have foot problems, that was a sarcastic, exasperated comment. Guess that doesn't come through in type. My competition is all in my head. I don't say anthing to the other person. It's just, stay ahead, try to keep running if they've stopped. But it's all in my head.

My mum was similar, she liked having someone to jog with to keep her motivated in her mind, so she wouldnt quit.

My ma also likes to say she will do something with me,
    but never does.

was cycling every day until someone took it upon themself to make my bike their own. now i swim every morning when i wake for about an hour, i do light lifting high reps 2 times a week, and probably hoop (basketball) 2-3 times a week, then theres a killer place to go rock climbing and cliff jumping by my house i try doing that once a week or so

Lately I've been doing a push / pull type deal, sporadically throwing in Deads / Front Squats when my lower body is feeling fresh. I'm trying to increase my numbers for chins, overhead barbell press, deadlifts, and front squats. I used to keep a strict routine but I've loosened up a lot, after a few years of lifting I have a good feel for when my body needs rest. I have a few go-to movements though:

    Push

OH BB Press (power cleaned to shoulders)
    Dips (sometimes weighted)
Push-ups between chairs for extra range of motion (sometimes weighted)
    Side Laterals
    OH DB extension
    BB Shrugs
Deads (my grip usually gives out first so I try to keep them away from chins and rows)

    Pull
    Chin-ups (sometimes weighted)
    Wide Grip Pull-ups (sometimes weighted)
    Pendlay Rows
    Curls
Front Squats (power cleaned to shoulders)

I play basketball and paddle tennis whenever I can, and I'm sorta deadly with a jumprope.

I think I need to up the exercise...with out my lovely bike I don't feel like Im getting quite the same exercise..I was on that bitch everyday! I rode it three miles to and from school each day, and 60 miles a week in addition....

And now I'm starting to feel like a chub.

Do you all think I could find a ride-able bike at a garage sale, or on craigslist for $50?
    Thats all I've got...
