I THINK THAT IF IN THIS HIPPIE PROTEST FORUM THERE IS NO ONE WHO CARES ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN IRAN YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF FRIGGIN' HYPOCRITES .

    i receive and forward:

    Dear friends,

Millions of Iranians are taking to the streets in outrage at evidence that Thursday’s election was stolen – let’s support a rigorous exit poll to establish the truth of how they voted before it's too late:
Iran is on a knife-edge, with millions of voters taking to the streets in outrage as evidence mounts that the government may have massively rigged and stolen Thursday's election. The regime has cracked down brutally on the protesters and is imposing a blackout on Iranian society -- shutting down domestic and international media, the internet and even text-messaging.

The voice of Iranians may have been silenced at the polling booth, now the regime is attempting to silence them everywhere else. Facing beatings and gunfire, the opposition is organising mass demonstrations and a general strike. We can’t afford to let the regime dismiss the voice of the people -- the truth must be heard.

Avaaz is urgently organising a rigorous “exit poll” of Iranian voters and a media effort to publicise it -- working with an international polling firm to do a telephone survey of Iranian citizens to ask how they voted. We urgently need 10,000 Avaaz members to pitch in a small amount each to raise $119,000 in the next 24 hours and give Iranians a powerful new way to be heard -- follow this link to view video from the streets of Tehran and support this exit poll to find out the truth:

    https://secure.avaaz.org/en/iran_vote_truth/

Public polling in Iran is heavily restricted, and no-one else is mobilizing fast enough to fund an international exit poll. It's urgent that we pitch in. A telephone poll won't be 100% accurate, but the difference between opposition and government claims is massive -- a rigorous poll can show which claim is remotely near the truth.

Unlike Western organizations, Avaaz's global network has a strong membership in Iran and across the Middle East. Backed by a respected polling firm, our effort will be harder to dismiss by Iranian conservatives. We'll send the poll results to the media and help our members in Iran to rapidly and virally spread the news despite the regime's blackout.

Messages have been flooding in from our Iranian members -- from Fariba: “20.000.000 people have lost their votes for peace and human rights. The government wants to use this votes for every thing but PEACE. Avaaz is a Persian word too and means voice -- hear our ‘avaaz’”. From Mahmoud: “The government has stolen the vote the people. The people in the street are beaten badly by the police. Now now now do not lose the time”. Stand with Iranians now and help their voices be heard:

    https://secure.avaaz.org/en/iran_vote_truth/

This election matters to us all. Iran is a major regional power, and the international community is seeking diplomatic engagement that holds a key to peace in the Middle East. But hawks and extremists on all sides want war instead: a conservative coup in Iran could destroy all our hopes.

The conservative Guardian Council, headed by a key Ahmadinejad ally, is reviewing the vote over the next 9 days -- our poll can be ready before they give their verdict, to counter any further rigging and the violent purge that could follow.

There is a real possibility that democracy will prevail. Ultimate power in Iran lies with Ayatollah Khamenei, who may have backed the rigging -- but he is hired and fired by the Assembly of Experts, chaired by ex-President Rafsanjani who has condemned vote-fixing. If Rafsanjani and allies can get enough votes on the Assembly this week, they can press to re-open the results, even to remove Khamenei from power. A scientific opinion poll could be a powerful piece of evidence.

In the next 72 hours, the Iranian people will try once again to be heard. Let’s help make sure their voices are not silenced -- follow this link to see their courage and donate now to help fund the exit poll:

    https://secure.avaaz.org/en/iran_vote_truth/

    With hope,

Ricken, Graziela, Paul, Pascal, Alice, Brett, Paula, Milena, Raj, Raluca, Taren and the whole Avaaz team

i think a revolt is going to happen. it all depends on how many people are willing to die, but something is gonna happen, three million people don't march and not get at least some of what they want.

the ayatollahs in Teheran are attempting the card of lead to scare the masses into submission, rising the death toll. they are not going to win. they are a leftover of the past and must be wiped out of the face of earth some day.
a wind of revolution is blowing in Iran : this is a chance to make a better place not just of Iran, but of this whole earth and must not be wasted. let's hope that this is one of the signs of the awake of hippiedom intended as the refusal of pre-cooked truthts, a dish commonly served cold both in oppressed andd "free" countries. i want to send my personal wish of best luck to the rebels , my mourning for the lives of those brave Iranians murdered by order of Khamenei, that lousy-bearded wizard and his lieutenant ahmadinejad, and an advice, not to leave this dish of rebellion to chill on the desk of history! a long time can pass until the next one is served, remember tiananmen square. yet iran is incomparably weaker than china so Iranian women and men, never put up the fight: remember, you are applying for a big life insurance in favor of your daughters and sons. i know it is your struggle, not ours; still you are fighting for something that is an issue for every thinking human being and it's too bad that this battle is fought only in Iran now.

look at ahmadinejad face. he looks tired and concerned. renew your courage and rejoyce, the price of freedom is high because freedom is precious and it is your pride as a nation to win it ourselves, not to take an usury loan from the US in order to purchase a counterfeit.

ahmadinejad, khamenei, you should hang for this one and all the others.
Even Jesus would never forgive what you do... and neither the one and the only God Himself, i hope.

How about rather than staying in your comfortable chair at home posting this stuff on a hip forum, you walk outside and do something about it that will actually have a chance of making a difference?

how about you keep your jedgements of others to yourself until you have enough resources to make your own opinion on the people who frequent this board.

and it truly is sad, what's going on in that country . .. Unfortunately, worse things happen in many places around the world that none of us ever hear about...

exactly. Thanks for pointing it out .

Not to sidetrack, but Jagerhans, good luck with Silvio Berlusconi... I find Italian politics so strange. So many parties, so many things going on, and for some strange reason, people keep believing that berlusconi actually stands for the people. Ugh.

ahh, then i am not as crazy as they want to make me believe... there's really some serious shit going on in my country , it's not just paranoia from a bunch of poor frustrated communist like most people believes here...

when it comes to berlusconi, well we are fucked up pretty fine. berlusconi is not merely a populist, a tycoon and a criminal, he is to the maximum extent that he can afford without compromising himself too much, an obvious fascist and a mafia leader. he does not fear any resistance or blame when he says (yesterday and days before) that if the press is not going to stop writing things he does not like he's going to gag them all. he is financing political militias to replace real police, destroying the rights of workers, the public school, promoting racial laws, bending the other powers of the state to his personal will, wiping his ass with the Constitution and promising even worse like china-like internet filters and censorship applied directly by the police with no need to ask a judge. shit, he just passed a law who forbids the criminal prosecutor's offices to do wiretapping when needed, this means that to avoid troubles for him and his friends he is de facto blinding the justice machine, and the magistrates are green in anger against him now. he also is promoting a law to put the judges under his own control and is right now immune from the law thanks to a law that declares him untouchable, no matter what the charge is.

the reason of his success is mainly that he can afford to carry on a neverending propaganda campaign because he is the owner of the media or controls the public ones by political and personal influence and because his political foes either don't want to oppose because they're paid or blackmailed, or can't do that because in the past years they failed so badly that now they're not believable any longer. the so-called opposition always refused to make a law to solve berlusconi's anomaly , openly refused to apply the sentences of the european courts of justice regarding the TV channels he controls but belong to others and are illegally used by mr. B., they seem to be there just as dummies to make him stand out and take the ovations.

he is also the most loved and hated politician since mussolini.

so berlusconi is too powerful, his opponents are either powerless and divided or blackmailed by him or paid by him, and the people is generally too stupid to see what's going on or too coward to attempt the least reaction to what appears the general trend of italian society or they are berlusconi's fans because he represents the ideal of the man who can act as he wants without fear of restraints or even criminal prosecution and for some obscure reason this is appealing to many (?) . finally, he is very smart at diverting the attention of the public, accusing others of his very faults, and resorting to violence when nothing else works. the two prostitutes who accused him: now one got her car burned and the other one found that everything in her home was stolen. the photographer who took the pictures in berusconi's villa says he is living in fear, just to name a few cases.

our only hope? it looks like that the church, particularly the council of Bishops, does not like him that much (funny that he even dared to ask the pope to change the law of the catholic church that does not allow divorced people like him to take the communion during the mass. then this very pious man who shows off his faith gets involved in a whore and drug affaire, lol) and is even asking him to give up his charge. but no one knows here in italy because the tv news have completely obscured this fact.

finally, his wife claims that he is insane. i think that this is not just his own trouble ... i know people including me that are being driven slowly crazy by the unstoppable arrogance of this gangster. and his supporters are in a vast majority just morons like berlusconi himself said "...most of my supporters have the mind age of an eight years old child... and not even so intelligent too" but on the other hand his opponents are "fuckers... morons... illiterate poor communist losers" . a young girl in a TV show asked him how one like her can even remotely afford in today's italy to have shelter and make a family when she even can't pay the rent with her payroll. He laughed at her in the face and suggested her to marry "the son of berlusconi, you're so handsome so..."
after this, the Italian keep acclaiming him. aren't we just an horde of illiterate fascist fuckers?

i can't stand that that son of a bitch says that the fascists used to send their political opponents 'to the seaside'. my grandfather was sent to jail until the fascist regime ended just for being communist, no other charge. my father, class 1919, was captured by the fascist, tortured, sentenced to death and saved just in time by British troops because he had the idea to let the fascist think he knew more things than he actually could tell, thus delaying his execution long enough . so i know that while i have a debt with the British army, a fascist is someone who attempted to kill me before i was born and one of them is currently the leader of my country. wtf.

so the next time you find someone on these forums who yells and appears to be a little insane check his location before throwing stones: maybe he's just another wacko from mock country  .

well this is not correct any longer. now pratically we have just four survivors:

1)PDL berlusconi's party, (nick:pD+L) binded together with Lega Nord (practically the italian KKK since one of their leaders actually attempted to burn black foreigners alive while they were sleeping).

2)PD the "democratic party" also called the PD-L party (some idiot had this idea to copy you yankees and give us the "democratic party" but no one seemed to crave for that)

    3) IdV (Italia dei Valori), a small "law and order" party created by anti-corruption judge A.di Pietro, allied with PD, actually attacking berlusconi on relevant issues. now listen: do you believe that PD which is supposed to fight mr. B. continuously blames IdV for being to "harsh" , "crude" and "aggressive" against our lord berlusconi? yet it is sadly true.

4)UDC, a small crappy party where everyone is either a corrupted mafia man, a criminal convict or both things. this party survives by means of cyclically making alliances with berlusconi or his enemies, the one who wins is joined by them and for this it's called "the whore party".

there are other parties, about 10 o 15 % of the population but they are not represented any longer in parliament thanks to the maneuvers of PDL and PD who want to be the sole actors of this drama. this is not a very good idea because we know that in a fragmented country like italy if you keep us lefties out of parliament , just wait a few years and voila! terrorism comes back because a consistent part of the population feels to be stranger in his own country (this is probably just the sad truth i fear) and starts getting really mad.

well to b honest the cry omg hypocrites was designed to attract reactions and it worked fine, everybody got angry but answered. nice if we stick back to Iran protests sometimes.

Ha, the evil name. My dad actually (sadly) almost supports what he believes Berlusconi's done for Italy... My parents are both italian, from the south. His idea is that even though there clearly is corruption within his party, he feels that Berlusconi is someone who says what he has to say, regardless of who's watching. He cleaned up all the disgusting garbage in Napoli (as an example, even though it's understood that he's the one who created that mess in the first place).

In any case, my father greatly believes that Italy has one of the most corrupt political agendas, and the further south you go, the worse it is.

    But yeah, I'm with you...

And again, the reason I posted what I did in my first post are because of the reasons blazingdercish clearly pointed out.

well not really. Mr.Clean just temporarily "resolved" the issue with some of the worst possible solutions: first stocking random garbage packs in unprotected, unsealed caves near fields and houses. when rain and the liquors from the mass of garbage will drain the toxic shit and drench the soil with it this will cause the pollution of the ground, of the water, serious health issues for those who live around and the end of agriculture in the zone.
second, building incinerators (better: allowing his friends to make a big bargain by building and running at our expenses obsolete incinerators instead of resorting to garbage treatment and recycling- germans know how to do that, we appearently can't) to burn random, unselected garbage. this will cause an air pollution problem of enormous proportions. some oddball faggot physicians and environmentalists have alerted us about possible _holocausts_ but of course it's just the usual exaggerations and commie lies, according to B's media.

third, we have other garbage emergencies in Palermo, Sicily, with piles of crap one-story high, garbage bins being set afire by night and the police chasing the nightly trash-burners. This time the blame is all of mr. B since it is over ten years that Palermo is under his control. up to this day no one has told us that the problem is solved, and we understand that the society who ran the garbage business managed to collect a huge debt of over 150.000.000 € while they have now only one (1) working lorry to collect and press the garbage for all the city. where the hell all that huge mass of our tax money disappeared? in the pockets of their friends' friends. yet they asked to raise the city garbage tax by the 35 % + , which caused an uprising of angry citizens. the tax was not increased.

berlusconi only solves problems to his own advantage, or to win some lucrous business for the exclusive good of his friends, plus usually the solution is worser than the original problem. it is not a mere coincidence or a communist plot if there are so many fiction books and movies ("shooting silvio" , "bye-bye berlusconi", "I slain berlusconi" "berlusconi's reality", "berlusconi, once upon a time", "kill democracy", "citizen berlusconi" ) who openly criticize or just plain advocate berlusconi's murder. because this little guy is the most serious threat to public freedom since mussolini and is perceived as the end of italy as we knew it. and quite ironically, the change is not even for the better so those who said we could not possibly sink deeper in corruption and authoritarism were wrong. we are digging into the bottom. many italians love him, but he is also hands-down the most widely hated politician of our republican history. i've never seen people clashing constantly with police just because they hate a prime minister. personally i think that the only "wrong" method to get rid of this cancer of democracy called silvio is the one that fails.

fresh news: a cargo train carrying gas tanks derailed and exploded in Viareggio rail station killing at least 15, wounding 50 and destroying the buildings around the station. the cause, old, worn railwagons who finally broke. our railways are the crappy, falling-to-pieces ones who are always about to bankrupcy yet their managers take tenths of millions of euros when retiring. what's worst is that in a week all the story will fall into oblivion. in our parliament there even is a law under exam which will force the media to avoid TALKING ABOUT criminal convictions older than 5 years thus preventing journalists to ruin our politicians' good name (=mainly BERLUSCONI and many of his allies) by remembering their past troubles with law. isn't that FABULOUS ????

    that bad, huh . . .

I still don't understand how he's still in power. All my family lives in Agrigento, and whenever I speak to them, they only have negative things to say about him. I'd be curious to see how the situation in Palermo is now...

    Thanks for the info.

yeah, since wherever B. goes he always gets hollered at and protested in the streets but applauded inside the palaces by a selected crowd of supporters for the benefit of the cameras i am starting to feel a little bit Iranian and a more less Italian . I'm starting to guess where is my vote and the vote of all those who scream their hate against him... yesterday the psycho-dwarf was in Naples, and the unemployed protested against him. he called them commies as usual. Then in the afternoon he was in Viareggio where that catastrophic gas tank explosion occurred and was protested against fiercely together with his minister Matteoli. Now please consider that in Viareggio the local administration is ran by his men, i mean it was not "enemy ground" still he had to leave after one hour. look this video . One thing is sure, berlusconi has split this country into two: His supporters and the rest of the country, including in the latter a big percentage of people who quit voting years ago because they got sick of politics. If one day this crowd decides that it is time start voting again that day will mean the final defeat of our juvenile delinquent, becase it is not thinkable that those who surrendered their citizenship rights because of all the filth in politics then can vote for a man who transformed politics in a libertine tv show filled with lies, corruption, coke & hookers.

Help support the protesters in Iran. This is a long-term battle and people are giving thier lives. Please visit and contribute to #iranelection #iran #gr88 #neda on twitter.com; help keep these topics high on the trending topics; and as the freedom movment in Iran become aware of up-to-date activities it really does help. One penny does not seem like much but one million pennies does - the small efforts add to create significant results. Also please visit http://iran.whyweprotest.net/ for more resources and info. Maybe find a protest near you and join. I joined [and recorded video posted on youtube] a protest on the 28th of June in Los Angeles in which more than 10,000 people attended; this makes a difference both locally and for the morale of the Green Movement in Iran. This is for all of us whether we live in Iran or not. Peace.
