Cats like it but it's been used for an herbal remedy in humans forever. As far as what it does. It is a sedative. It is only a stimulant in cats. As far as getting high on it: have fun imagining that. Any one who thinks they have, seriously had a placebo effect. There might be a calming effect , but actually feeling that is akin to about half what a hot bath might do for you.
