    already....

took a nice bath, ate breakfast and lunch, got my car fixed (was there two hours), went for a full grocery trip, studied an hour for my soc. test, did three loads of laundry, cleaned a bit, and now i just started dinner, which is....creamy chicken chowder with chicken, corn, potatoes, taco seasoning, cilantro, chile peppers, cheese, etc.

in two hours i leave for an AA meeting and will STILL have time to decorate around here.... watch tv, and relax and study more.

and usually id just be getting up.

    geez.

sounds good Trish, I'd say the key to avoiding drugs/alcohol is to remain busy. For me, boredom has been the main reason I've indulged in the past.

I'm really proud of you Trish. It sounds like your really turning things around for yourself.

It's amazing all one can accomplish when their not loaded with all the other garbage that just wants to rob you of you. ( you meaning anyone who drinks/drugs all the time)

Was this your first day with all this energy? What does Dan say when he sees you cooking and cleaning? <Does his eyes look like that but with a smile?

Are you still night sweating? That WILL pass if you are. Your body is ridding itself of all the toxins. Completely normal.

i just wrote a reply to that and it wouldnt let me send it and it disapeared. how sad (and annoying).... well, let's see...first of all, thanks.. ive had energy the past two days but not like this.

i have always cooked about half the food cause dan and i both love to cook but i usually stay away from cleaning and i defiantly think dan is surprized in a good way the way ive been cleaning the house lately. it's nice. :)

and last night i slept the whole night thru and didnt sweat at all! yay!!! :)

Are you sure your up for babysitting a 2 year old just quitting drinking and drugs? Have you ever spent a lot of time with a 2 year old? When do you start?

Maybe if you gave yourself a lil' more time. I don't want to sound like I am telling you what to do or discouraging you from this if it's what you really want. I just am thinking from my own experience and my own tolerance. I don't think I could do it, especially having the child not be my own.

The only time I had night sweats was when withdrawaling from Opiates...yuck such a bad feeling.

I remember falling asleep for maybe 30 minutes then waking up covered in sweat with a restless feeling in my stomach.

Congrats on getting through withdrawal...at least you've broken the string

When I went to rehab I had night sweats really really bad. I was drenched. Come to find out they put plastic covers on top of the mattress's (under the sheets) I removed mine and my sweats were only really bad instead of really really bad. :p

I didn't really notice that there was an alcohol withdrawal until this summer when I got very drunk 4 days in a row at this festival our city has....I was pretty fucked up after that...took a while to sleep normally again.

I didn't know you had spent all that time with children before. Sounds like you will do wonderful. :)

I got my experience with my own children. I never had much time with lil' ones before so I sorta had a crash coarse with my own. :p I could of never of been thrown into a room with a 2 year old before my own. I'd probably have this look  and this one all the time

hehe....also when i used to go to church w/my mom i worked in their day care with like 20 kids between the ages of 2 and 5 running around acting all crazy. i wasnt completly alone with all those kids tho. i think i would have had a heart attack if i would have been!!!

but yeah, still... ive babysat for a newborn before but it made me really uncomfortable. just always afraid of not holding his head right and stuff. i was very nervous!

Very awesome, Trish. Good to see you're fighting through things and I wish you the best. It takes a very strong person to have the courage to break out of a vicious cycle. Keep the big picture in mind and remember that all these small steps will lead to it. I have a friend whose is in a similair situation and just will not admit it or seek help. So sad, but it's to the point where she is no longer a friend. Deep down, she knows that she's the only one now who can help herself. It would be wonderful to see her do what you have been doing, but that has yet to come.

Anyways, hold yer head up high and be proud for having the guts to make a difference in your life. A lesson, I believe, we all could use time to time. :)

I am so proud! I remember when my mom went through this...I was 9. She was a wreck for a long time. (She'd been perpetually drunk from the time she was 11 basically) After that though, she was perky and energetic. I didn't know what to think....

As far as babysitting goes, two year olds are really easy, I think. They can relay basic needs and are usually easy going. But then again, I've been babysitting most of my life....Dealing with kids comes naturally!
