Autoerotic asphyxia

Has anyone ever tried this? For those who don't know what it is, it's basically choking yourself while you masturbate, and try to cut off the oxygen supply to your brain right as you climax, it's suppose to make it much more pleasurable and intense.

When you starve the brain of oxygen, you experience a high and then you black out. It's the high before it that many people strive to achieve, but during that high you can become so disorientated that you lose the ability and/or knowledge to pull out of it.

When you look at the figures in suicide, a lot of those suicides are accidental deaths by Autoerotic Asphyxia (sometimes Erotic Asphyxia) but it's not a condition that's broadcast for the fear of giving people ideas.

Sometimes the drop in oxygen upsets the way your blood and heart work and you have a heart attack. If this happens, it doesn't matter how soon you catch it or even if you do have the strength to stop what you're doing; like untying the knot or standing up, pushing whatever away from your face. By then it's already too late. Most heart attacks like this are deadly, since you'd either be alone whilst you were doing it or the person/people with you wouldn't know you were dying and you wouldn't have much of an ability to tell them. The chances the person/people with you would know what to do are pretty slim, since it's highly unlikely someone medically trained would be helping or witnessing the act taking place, since they know how dangerous it is.

Loads of people will just say "Yeah well, I never heard about anyone dying" and that's not because it doesn't happen. It happens a lot, but those deaths go down in figures as suicides.

Some believe that Erotic Asphyxia has the criteria of mental disorder, since you're toying with life and death, the ability to seriously injure and the chance of becoming brain dead or mentally ill. It's treated by phsychiatrists as a serious illness since it has the ability to ruin or kill.

I would think that lots participate without knowing the damage they could potentially cause. This just makes them ignorant (in the way that they remain uneducated, even if they should have found out the side effects themselves), and it's sad that there's not enough information spread about it.

There's also the confusion between Erotia Asphyxia and gently holding a partners neck. Of course if you're not holding him/her gently or your hand is doing more than just resting, you may be crossing the border if you're not already past it. Gently holding a partners neck may just be done for the thrill of the idea of being in control, it doesn't have to mean that you're playing with Erotic Asphyxia. You should always know the fine line and be 100% trusting in your partner.

I read a post somewhere on these boards recently where someone mentioned choking. It was so lighthearted, she didn't see the seriousness in it. I thought it was awful.

I freak out having an asthma attack, it's horrible. I find it hard to identify with those that choose to obstruct their breathing for a sexual thrill. I'd be petrified.

 

Yeah, well a 1000 kids a year die from trying to do this.

Yep. Bill killed himself. Uma Thurman goes through hell killing hundreds of people in her path. She wakes up from a coma and fights off a rapist, breaks her way out of a hospital, kills Vernita and has to explain to her daughter, fights the crazy 88, gets burried alive, and tracks down and kills Elle all to get to Bill.

And Bill fucking kills himself while jerkin' off. Guess Uma Thurman needs to find herself a day job.

 

My exe's friend's friend died from this. Its not worth dying for in my opinion.
