Given that this is NOT a fetish/porno area, why is the number of hits/responses to "foot fetishes" and "pictures of your feet" WAY, WAY in excess of replies to other topics. If barefooting is trying to be (smack me now and hear me scream later) accepted, why (because people are people---duh!) even bring up these aspects? It only shows to go ya that maybe---and only maybe---barefooting IS weird. I know it really isnt. But why mess it up when it's ALREADY messed up (in the "public mind")?
I would imagine that a large part of it is that there's only so much that everyone can say about barefooting - everyone's from different parts of the world, they've got their own experiences, and encounter different types of people, but ultimately we all really know what's going on and you can only say the same handfuls of things so many times. A lot of it in fact is really just about giving advice to people who want to find out a few things from those of us who've been at it a while. But the photo and the fetish threads are topics where everyone's got something to add, because you can put a very personal input on things that are subjective (or things that are specific to yourself) and other people are keen to share those things and find out more about each other. We're all still human after all, even if we are a bit 'weird'. ;-)
All true. All valid. But still, going barefoot is just...going barefoot. It doesn't mean you're gay or a peacenik or a bum or newly released from Bellevue or etc. It just means you're not even wearing flip-flops. How whack can THAT be??? People hate difference. They label it furiously to "deal with it." I am NOT criticizing this forum---a good and tolerant one---just wondering out loud. Smack me now........
Going barefoot apparently also means that I can be sent to the principal of my school for not wearing shoes.
