    Greetings all,

I am new to this forum, and I would like help in understanding dreams about a person who has passed.

To cut a long story short, in1976 when I was 12 years old, I read abut a pro wrestler who died in a plane crash. In 1996 I started writing a series of articles about his career that led me to friendships with his colleagues, and most importantly, a deep friednship with his family.

I dreamt about him once in a while, nothing really noteworthy until last month. I dreamt that I was riding in a car with him, and he was telling me about his training to be a wrestler. I said that I wrote about that in one of my articles about him, and he said "I never thanked you for that." My reply was "oh, you did," For me, I have always felt that my friendship with his family (truly a blesing in my life) was his way of thanking me for my work on his behalf, so maybe that's where that dream came from.

Last night I had another dream. That I was at the annual wrestlers and fans reunion that I attend and he was there. In this dream, I introduced myself to him, and he said "Your name's familiar." I started to say that I wrote an article about him, and he said "oh, the article," as i was replying.

The feeling of the dream was that he never died in the plane crash - but we thought he did. He was going to contact his parents (both of whom are now deceased) and his uncle (who is still alive and the family member that I am cloest to).

These are the only dreams where he spoke directly to me. Is he trying to give me a message? All opinions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Al

he's having a dialogue with you from the other side - when you did all the research and writing on him, it developed a connection, a channel between you and he

the feeling/impression that he did not die, is likely coming from him - he's still active, going, doing and being....he doesn't feel that he's dead at all, and is only now starting to live life to its fullest

sounds like he's happy though, and that's what counts the most.....if he does share info with you in dreams about things to tell his family - pass that info along - easy to say "i had the weirdest dream..." :)

I too have had dreams in which deceased partners with whom I had close intimate relations visited me. I call them visits, tho I realize the scientific explanation of dreams being our minds filing stuff on the midnight shift.

In your case, this guy was on your mind - you researched him and knew much about him. You could easily create two characters in your mind, yourself that the mirror wrestler to carry on a dialogue.

I am still thinking about my visits and how they could have just been conjured from my own mind - but they seemed so timely and intimate.

In fact one of them was so real I dreamed a smell - never smelled anything in a dream, prior or since.

I'm about to post that in a bit.

(BTW Al, I hope you are not one of those 'guests' that make one post, never to be heard from again.)

In January of '08 my dearest grandma passed away, suddenly, of a heart attack. precisely a year after she passed away, I had the most wonderful dream.

We were at Indian Pines, the local beach, where we used to go, and she was holding my hand. She looked at me and she said that I didn't have to feel guilty, that i did everything just right, and to tell my mother that it was ok to be happy.

It was such a peaceful and relieving dream. I had been carrying around all these doubts, about whether I had done enough, been there enough, whether I had taken her for granted, or said 'I love you' enough. It was such a release to know that it was all enough, and she knew how much she meant to me.

I believe that she really did reach out to me in my dream, how could it have been anything else? Some people might think its just a chemical thing, or leftover memories from the day, but I believe that it was my grandma, that she was connecting to me from the other side, wherever that is... and it gave me peace.

You know that skeptical ppl will say your subconscious induced this dream "precisely a year after..." because it was on your mind during this anniversary. And that your mind cleaned itself of apprehensions by creating the forgiving dream.

But, if you want to know it was your grandmother communicating with you, so be it. There are a lot flimsier things taken on faith.

This is pretty much my own argument (against my own logical, calculating side).

Yeah, I know that the subconcious can trigger things of which we are not aware, such as my dream coming exactly 21 days after my partners death.

Why can't your subconscious calculate that anniversary. The numbers 7 and 21 are ancient mystical numbers that had relevance to me and Jim in our occult explorations.

And Jim's profound message from a dead person about not picking up things that eventually have to be discarded is simply an extension of my own way of thinking.

I still weigh these attitudes about dreams. Are they mystical experiences or just physiological processes to keep our brains from fragmenting? I tend to think that even if I did originate all facets of the dream, it is a valid visit from a partner who now resides in my recollection of him.

I believe that my grandmother visited me. I recognize that position is weak, and untenable. However I am willing to suspend my disbelief in order to feel the comfort that that belief gives me despite scientific evidence. So I guess that is faith!

The subconscious mind is a very intricate and complex thing.

I say the subconscious mind, because I believe that there is only one, shared throughout the universe.

It connects everything, and through it you can access anything.

    Duality is only an illusion.
