I posted this in the psychedelics forums, but there will probably be more answers here. There are no head shops in my town. There are a bunch of smoke shops, and at least one that sells salvia extracts, but thats it. there are no ethnobotanical shops, not even any that sell 'legal highs.' I know that they exist, and Im wondering what theyre like. If you have a headshop in your area, as in one that sells salvia, san Pedro, kratom, MGs or HBWR etc, what is it like? Is it overtly about getting high, or do they sell plants as botanical specimens? Do they go for the shamanic entheogen angle, or the get high angle? How good of a selection do they have compared to online stores? Are they also smoke shops, or exclusively about legal plants? Do they get harassed by the law about things like ayahuasca, pedro or MGs? Im very curious how there seem to be so many online stores, presumably making enough to stay afloat, and yet no trace of them in my town, a very drug-happy locale. Of course, online stores have very little overhead, but still.

All shops are different. One is all "we're strictly against the use of illegal drugs" but the whole back of the store is a display of bongs and pipes. Just down the street from that shop is another that, though well hidden, is very... er, open once you bring it up. I asked the guy if he was selling any certain smokables and he recommended us a legal high he had in his pipe (he said he got drug tests at his other job) that he enjoyed and told us tips of the local trade and traffic. I live in Ohio so our shops are limited. They don't have an angle, really - it's just there. It all depends on the packaging. Some products have psychedelic smiley faces on them with groovy ass names and some look like something you would be prescribed with a warning that says "Not for human ingestion" on it. I'm sure the shadier shops get harassed at least some, but probably less the ones that have "18 or older only" and "We I.D" signs everywhere. All in all, though, your best bet is probably online shops if it's convenient (which it isn't for me without any credit card - I have to stick with glue and cheap ass pot).

Yo, I got a grip of Salvia.

    More than I really need.

    And I live in Chico.

I just moved up here and I don't know anyone around.
