As a "get to know you" type thing for the freshmen at my university next year I am supposed to make a mix CD and send it to a boy that will also start there this fall.

Sooo, I'm wondering if anyone feels up to making a list of songs i might like to use?

    so far:

    1.Olympia,WA - Rancid
    2. Love you more than life - Neutral Milk Hotel
    3. Spice up Your Life - Spice Girls

    now, your turn.

I think it's pretty awesome, now he has an excuse to listen to them. Everyone loves the spice girls to some degree.

As a dude from the UK who was 16 or 17 when they came out, I can assure you that not everyone loves the Spice Girls to some degree. They were arguably the most irritating human creation of the last 20 years.

Anyway... as for a suggestion, how about "Tam Lin" by Fairport Convention

There are just SO many good songs. It's a shame to waste the thought by limiting oneself only to current or recent popular groups. But most people here are too young to remember some of the ones I would suggest.

I've got gigs and gigs and gigs and gigs and gigs and,,,

Between my son and I, we must own most of musical recording history since the 1600's,,
