Hey, I'd like to have my own personal little plant but know nothing of how this is done so I have a few questions:

1-What's the best way to get seeds?
2- what seeds would I want to get if I wanted a small low to moderate smell plant, preferrably purple but i don't care.
    3-what lights do I need?
4-what size pot should I plant it in?

5-Please explain in detail the important things I need to know to get this going

    Thank you SO much
    I really appreciate it!

(oh, and it will be a cabinet style grow, i have a back room where I have plenty of room for some sort of rig-up, lol)

    oh and I'm in canada!

it honestly depends on what you mean by "little". if you are dedicating a room to it, its different then those people that simply want it as a smokable "desk" plant.

assuming that you are willing to put at least 200$ into this, and can get away with your house smelling a bit funky, heres your answers:

1)for a small number of plants, either bag seed (if theres a healthy seed in that gram your buddy had last week) or getting a feminized 5-pack online. (check out attitude seed bank, theyre very good)

2)most people will suggest lowryder. however, if you have at least 4 feet of vertical space, you should look for the seeds YOU want. there are many great seeds out there, so spend some time searching for your personal favorite. look for flavor, smell, colour, and indica/sativa ratios (indica will grow a bit shorter and quicker).

    3) for less then 3 plants, your best bet is flourescent lighting. its cheap, easy, and prettymuch foolproof. find a 2x2 piece of plywood, buy 10 plastic light sockets at home hardware (usually 1-2$ each), and affix them to the board, cutting out holes for wiring ( fairly simple to wire. just get some lamp cord and wire all the sockets in PARRALLEL to a small plug (1-2$)) Use DAYLIGHT or COOL WHITE flourescents, and get the 23w (100w equiv) style. at full size, you want about 2-3 bulbs per plant.

    4) start in small containers. plant a few extra seeds, as some may be male or fail to grow, esp. if bagseed. once they are well rooted and a few inches tall, they can get bigger containers. a full-size plant will appreciate having 2-3 gallons of dirt available.

    5)
    a) with flourescents, the bulbs should be about 3-8 inches from the top of the plant, to give the most light.
    b) your biggest problem will be smell. if your only dealing with a plant or 2, then a small airfilter in the room may be able to handle most of the odors. otherwise, you will need to look into a carbon filter. (fairly expensive, 150-300 for a decent small one). ODORSOK filters are fairly cheap, while actual metal carbon filters are more expensive.
    c) your lightrig will be supported from above. locate somewhere on the ceiling where you can put some large hook-screws. (must be able to take about 10lbs each)
