I'm 70 now, be 71 in Dec. Today I work with the Coalition To End Homelessness in Fort Lauderale, Fl. I'm still doing what I always did regardless of the rumors, trying to help people. My cell phone # is 954-892-1665. my business # is 954-374-9244, you might be able to call collect. Otherwise, I should have an 800 # soon.
Has anyoner heard from Cyril, Danna. Momma Kitten is doing Social Work last I heard--- Aries Larry, Rockin" Ron
If we can all get together (the internet is a great tool) I'm sure we have a history and a story to tell--- if for nobody else but ourselves.
Will close for now and anxiously await any replies
    Love and good vibes

    Well Howdy Spacy,
Great to learn your still above ground!! Glad you were able to find us. Alot of ppl have asked about you, including me. I should hope you remember Nailcakes
Last I heard you were selling Intersteller Propeller Hats at the Superbowl. or so I been told.

There are several of us here from GE, and more droping by. It seems most of us are in Eugene, or there abouts. I'm in North East Texas. My home state. I moved here after I left San Farncisco with the laws on my heels in 77'. Jomie is 38 now and living in North Dakota building houses. I lost my daughter Amy to Cystic Fibroses in 2000, she was 25, she left two beautiful daughters behind and I miss her terribly. Me, I will be 59 in Dec also. 12.12.50. For you Numerology buffs, that's 11.

My hubby Lynn and me have a small family farm. We raise Chickens and are state inspected to sell to the public :) We have all the farm animals and raise our veggies. I do a lot of canning, making salsa, relish, pickles and jelly/jams/preserves. We hunt and fish for our meat and I've become very countryfied over these past thirty odd yrs.

No longer the Hell Raiser I once was. but still raise a little now n then;) I work as an Iridologest and Aromatherapist. I do Muscle Responce Testing and sell herbs and essential oils, making healing lotions and potions. But mostly I'm just a FarmGirl.

Together my hubby n me had 6 kids and have 14 grandbabies, altho some are not babies anymore but grown themselves. We have been married 25 yrs. and looking forward to the next 25 :)

Cyril has joined Great Spirit, some yrs passed now. Taurus Barbara lost the fight with hep-C while waiting for her second liver transplant. She had become a famous writer. Barbara Serrenella. She used us for her story lines. I was in contact with her till the end. Such a great loss to the writing community and our family.

Diane, formaly known as Mrs Shills, was just here for a visit from Encino Cali last week. She hasnt changed over the yrs. Shills came to see me also last yr. He was driving a rig, from Tennesee to Dallas, so he stop in and laid over for the night. he is remarried to Beverly for 11 yrs now. Ranger has been to my farm too. He and Rita came out a couple of yrs ago for a visit.

Bright Blessings Stephen, glad ya made it to us brother.:cheers2:

    Stacey,

Good to hear from you. This is Spud (Aquarius Rose's cousin). Rose was Breeze's old-lady. I lived at Downey St., Upper-Cole and Haight Street carrige house. I hung out with Breeze, Kid, Wild Bill, Taurus Larry, Hydraulic Jack, Shills, Count, etc. Did house painting with Leonard, mechanicing with Kid, moved to Ash Valley in 1971 and have been here ever since.

I'm just getting back in this flow. It is "great" to hear about you and your family. I've been wondering what happened to a lot of us. Most of what I heard from you was great news- except about Cyril, I always thought he'd be around for us to reminisce about the old days as we rocked in the sun of our later years. Has anyone heard anything about Boogie, or Cancer Nancy, his main lady from our day. Leo Ron too. He was young- wow! Was Dawn his daughter. Last I heard of Reggie she was doing forestry work The good and the sad about Tarus Barbara--- I'm going to research her writings. What about Count. It sounds like Shills is doing good--- there's so maqny names I could go on and on.... I got a reply from Spud. He's next on my message list.
Today we, the Coalition, is holding a garage sale. A lot of state and federal funding has been lost under this economic crises. Last week we held a Homeless Veterans Stand Down--- I served in the Army- drove tanks- my father was a lifer, I grewup in the military. The Stand Down was a success as far as the turn-out went, but a bummer as to how many homeless people there are. Unemployment in Florida is 9%
Well, enough for now, talk again later

    Good to hear from you!
Thirty years after Rita walked out of Fell St. House to go to the Rainbow gathering in NM I ran across where she had left a message for Nailscakes on the Diggers site and tracked her down. We've been togeather since. We're in Prescott Az currently doing the swap meet and it turns out Scorpio Kenny is just down the road in the Phoenix area.
The last I heard of Danna was about the time of the Polly Klass kidnapping. It was Danna's place where the kidnapper pulled over near her driveway and she got nervous and called the cops. She made national news then. Wendy was in touch with her and Naomi at that time. Mouseman is in touch with Wendy. He was also the last to talk with Boogie in Denver and have news of Nancy. Boogie was in the military.
The last I heard from Aires Larry and Shirley, they and Ron were working for Ma Bell in the East of Bay.
How about an email addy bro? I'll drop Mouseman a line and tell him to check in here.

I PMed Skip about the problems that are preventing our peeps from getting in. I havent heard back yet, and could give Darrel's e addy bc I dont have it.

Skip created This Forum for Good Earth Commune at my request 5 yrs ago. I had search the web for ten yrs looking for The Family. I have been on every HIP site I could find and ended up at the Diggers site, where I left 'word' for anyone that was perhaps looking for Family also.

After some time I heard from Rita aska The Disneyland Chick :) as to her affiliation with Anaheim, where the original DL was. I knew Rita from there(anaheim) we ran in the same circles. In fact she n her X Sonny (a real SOB) took me n my x Cliff out on our wedding night to a club, which I cannot recall the name of. I guess I blocked it out bc I was so embarrassed when they shined the spotlight on me n Cliff and was applauding our Nups. The singer dedicated a song to us and made us get up and dance to it.

Well OK I said as I stood up, upon rising ( the embarrassing part) my HUGE belly( 7 mos preggers with Jomie) caught the table and knocked it over, banging to the floor taking out the next table and spilling everyones drinks and everyone just STARED at us, me standing in my hippie dress and cowgirl boots and Cliff with all his 'trinkets hanging off him with his jeans slit at the side with inserts of phichedelic meterial I had sowen in the. Yes we were a sight to behold in all our glory and hippiedom in Consertive Anaheim, 1970.

So , later on down the line I came down from SF in 72' to visit my people and Rita decided to pickup and go back to The Haight with me to Underhouse where I was living.. and the rest is history.

Now back to the point, yes there is always a point in my ramblings.

And So, Rita found me on the Diggers and then Ranger showed up and He and Rita had a history from Wheelers and so, they reuninted, so to speak. Ranger had contacts from The Haight as he was still living there three yrs ago and left to find Rita.

With Ranger's appearence it opened up a river of imformation about the Family and our infastructure. He is a fountain of imformation when it comes to recolections, as he was a part of it all.

With the gang showing up now, trickling in, or trying to trickle in. Spud who has been here a while now, and Mouseman dropping us a line or two, Jehene with her sweet self, Wild Bill so cool with his flim making, JD stopped by for a minute Pices Patti popped her head in and said hello. Cass came by too, but I was not very kind to her and I do wish I had been a better sister, but unfortunatly I was a bitch. Zev, what a nice man and good brother he is. When I thought I was having a heart attack he called to check on me (huggs), btw, no heart attack. Chris Wha and his loving wisdom, whom I hope is healing well.

Now Scorpio Kenny is trying to make his appearence and Darrel knocking on the door. Hopefully Skip can get that fixed so they can join their family. I hope their contributions with bring more of us Back To The Garden and reunited with our brothers and sisters. If I missed anyone, I'm sorry, please chime in.

    Bright Blessings All

The COTGE (Church of the Good Earth) I believe was Stacy and Cyril's idea (maybe Aires Ron too). I liked the rules - no hard drugs (heroin/meth), work hard and party hard. My first job was at the Recycling Center on Haight Street. I crushed glass in 55 gallon barrels and hefted them into the blue bread truck with Leo Ron. We would take the barrels down to a recycling business in S. San Francisco - drinking quarts of Budweiser and smoking reefers on the drive down. Somehow we always made it without a hitch. Good karma, I suppose!

We had a lot of Irons in the fire in The Haight, We had the Recycling Center, The Garage, The Food Conspiricy, The Headshop, The Day Care, just to mention a few right there in the neighborhood.

Speaking of the recycling center, wonder where Weasle is., and what he has been up to.

The Daze! How far we have come since we were Babes In The Woods. What we saw, what we did and what we Experienced..there will never be another, we were the first of our kind, out of the Cosmos we came on a Ray Of Light. It touched us with it's vibe, through Music it came as we droped into hyperspace, we floated on air and Danced In The Streets of Mecca.

We rejoyced as our numbers grew, flying over the coocoo's nest trying not to get caught in the Net of the Plastic World beneath our wings of Stardust.

A Tribe of People brought together by a Silent Force, an inner calling, beconing the Ones that were Awake to draw close and learn, to gather Knowledge from the Universe and apply in the Physical of Mankind.

We came to change Minds as a Prophacy and to make another Path to finding The Truth, our Light Shinning Brightly as we Pioneered our way across the World. To bring back our connection with GODHEAD, our own destinies brought together by a common ground, Freedom, Equaility and Love for our Fellow Man.

I cannot count the ones that flowed through COTGE. Ones that lived n died there, so many, always remembered by at least one. Our Legacy, some have lived up to it, and some of us are still trying to live it down;)

Whichever it maybe, we did it together and we grew into what we are today because of it. Each one touching another, learning, growing and passing it along. And so, we are here as a testimony to it all.

    Bright Blessings

As I was sitting here this morning, starting my day. I see out the window, what the night had left for us. More RAIN!!! Not that we dont need the precious mosture, but 4 1/2 inches a day is just too much at one time. Our Gardens are once agin in standing water, the rot is starting to set into the Watermelons, they are showing signs of Blossom Rot, in which there is no recovery :(

Surprizing enough, watermelons are not that fond of a lot of water, go figure.. There must have been 300 plants, starting to produce mega masses of melons. Some melons were about 2 or 3 lbs already and 100's of babies round 3 or 4 inches long. It hurt my feelings to see the ends turning fuzzy gray. What a BUMMER!! There will be NO produce stand this yr again.

The tomatos bruned up three weeks ago, we have 3 bushes left out of 64. The first rain took out half the corn and beans, rotting out the cabbagees in the middle and rotting out the onions. Then the dreadfull heat that soared into the triple digits bringing the heat index up to 117, took it's toll on everything. This was in June. July was so unbarablely hot the fish would'nt even bite. The worms got into the fruit trees and took out my peach crop, all but a few went unmarred, what you see in my album is all I was able to save.

I did manage to get a nice crop of berries, as also seen in my album. I made about 30 pints of jellies and jams. The cuks did well and are still producing, I've plickled mass quainties of Dill Pickles and Relish. We freeze the Peas, sqwash/zuccini.

The Okra seems to be the only thing the heat and wettness doesn't affect. I been pickling it and frying it and making gumbo. When I froze the Okra, I used a batter of 1 cup corn meal to 1 cup flour, 1 tablespoon seasoning salt, 1 t-spoon black pepper, 1/2 t-spoon garlick powder mixed up in a gallon zip lock bag. I cut the Okra into 1/2 inch slices about two or three cups of cut up Okra, dip them in an egg and milk wash (2 eggs to 1 cup of milk) let then drain in a collender for 10 minutes, then into the zip lock and shake it all up till all the okra is covered in the dredge. Then I lay it out on cookie sheets and pop it into the freezer, when they are frozen I put them in freezer bags and back in to freezer. If you freeze them before you put them in bags, they do not stick together, while cooking they dont get mushy either. The batter sticks to them better also if you use the recipe I've shared.

Even though our crops didn't do as well as we wnated, there is enough to get us by till the fall crops start producing. We are thankfull for what we did get and we are Blessed in the midsts of the weathers decression.

Farm life was never easy or predictable. It hasn't changed any, it all still depends on what the weather does. You can never cout your chickens till they hatch!! Ohh, speaking of hatching, our incubator went out last month and we we set back a month and did not have chickens to take to the sale. A friend lent us his hatcher, which was very nice, but only held 50 eggs at a time, our incubator holds 400. We ordered a part to fix it but it hasn't come in yet. When the Incubator went out we lost 400 eggs that would have hatched in two days.. that was really bad. The smell was awful.

Well, that's about all the news I can handle typing this morning. How was your week :)

    Blessings
    sh
