Apologies if there has already been a thread on The Yardbirds.

Interested to know if people prefer Page or Beck,or even Clappers for that matter.
    Any fav Yardie moments?

Here are mine in any case:

    Shapes of Things,
    Evil Hearted You,
    Im not talking,
    Stroll on,
    Lost Woman,
    Happenings Ten Years Time Ago,
    Tinker,Tailor,Soldier,Sailor,
    What Do You Want,
    Glimpses,
    Think About It,
    Psycho Daisies.

I can't pick a favourite period I'm afraid. I really love the Yardbirds, they're like my Beatles of rock . I will admit I even prefer them generally above Led Zeppelin.

Probably not, but who's to say huh ;) Perhaps there would be a band called Led birds with Clapton and Page in it at the same time :D
That's not why I prefer the Yardbirds though. It's about the music for me, not who was the first.

Its hard to believe Page started out on bass with the band.I suppose with Samwell-Smith leaving,it made sense, until Dreja stepped in.The thought of Page and Beck together,as on Happenings, makes you wish it could have lasted longer.
Actually,The Jeff Beck Group's,Truth album isnt bad.Contains a fairly good version of Shapes of Things.

You're a Better Man Than I, For Your Love, and A Certain Girl are great. I have to admit, though, I don't like Clapton's work with the Yardbirds that much.
