How to find your inner spirituality. Help!

Hello everyone. For quite a while I've been at a crossroads; I don't understand religion's concept and why it exists. I'm a Catholic according to family but I just don't feel it, almost indifferent to it. My parents claim I'm Atheist but it has nothing to do with that, I guess. I just don't get it. Is there an inner God? If so, how do you find it? Because I think this is the root problem that causes my distress that I do not understand. Any advice is appreciated.

 

Hi Free Mind, I have no one answer, but my first few thoughts upon reading your post are....

you might want to find someone whose spirituality you feel really good about and connect with that person. If you can do so directly, great. But even reading a book that person wrote, visiting his/her website, etc., could be a great way to get on your path.

Remember that while your parents almost surely love you very deeply, their spirituality might not be your spirituality. And that's okay, that's how it might need to be. I don't see that its your job to convince them of that - more, its your job to find your path and follow it.

By the way, I have no idea whether there's a God, inner or not, but I am very sure that each individual has his or her own spiritual essence. To me, that essence is my God, but God for you or someone else might be a different concept than God is for me. Our own spiritual essence is always going to help us attain our best Self.

Consider that there is no "right" or "wrong" way to finding your God. There are many, many ways, all of them valid.

 

Deity is within all of us - that still voice we often hear in the back of our minds, the feeling of love and beauty that washes over us for no apparent reason

spirituality is definitely an internal process, and ultimately, your spiritual truth is your own, and no one else's........organized religion exists with a handful of concepts that enough people agree on that they can gather in a group to express this inner spirituality, but even when the entire congregation prays to God/Goddess, they are still addressing their own personal deity within

 

Neither do I... It's a real shame that wars are waged and brother turned to enemy over a personal interpretation of what we all feel.

I understand that God is inside all of us and all around us. I was raised "baptist" christian and my whole life I thought it was a bunch of BS and a show that these faces put on in front of others in the church, more "holyier than none" sort of thing. But All "religious beliefs" aside, it takes you... you, to find what God means. I don't think anyone can show you, you need to find it for yourself, you need to SEE it for yourself. I believe God is there, you just have to look for him.

For the longest of time I have spent on this earth I never believed ibn God because organized religion destroyed the concept for me. But around 2 months ago I was sitting in a prison cell, no idea the time, I was alone, trapped behind bars like a caged animal with no one to talk to, comfort me, nothing. I cant explain in words and letters how I felt. I was so cold and alone and I just started talking to God and ever since then he's been talking back (not in a literal sense of course) but in a very subtle sense. Things I have asked for, needing guidance, has been revealed and provided to me. So I am sorry if I rambled a bit but I do hope this helped.

Organized Religions are " The Middle Man" they fool you into beliving you need them to reach Great Spirit and then they want you to pay them for this service in " Tides". GOD Is Real and We Are GODlings we need no middle man to connect with what is part of our Being.

We Evolve at different rates of time and space, each at their own Chord or Vibrational Flow of Energy. The way to connect with your Vibe is to BE STILL and LISTEN. GOD is a Title, not an Inety, like KING but higher. Something beyond the physical realm of existance.

Our Spirit, as I precive it to be, Is what defines us as Individuals, our will and is all energy, like balls of lightening pulsating and exploding within itself flowing and bubbling about the Universe untill it fancies a place to lite and enters the Physical, via the WOMB, from a mixture of chemicals which make our Body and is our Soul, our Temple our way to get the Spirit from one place to antother and is the Thinking part of us.

We are part of something bigger then what we are in the physical being. A Chip Off The Old Block, of energy of GODHead. We are from the source of all energy, all part of the same exsitance in the physical.

Our Egos which is Selfserving, is what gets us in trouble and blocks the Flow from Our Ancetrial Father, Great Spirit. The Seed from which we came. As Egos develope and lessons are not learned, we cut the Chord, stiffle the Vibrational Flow to and from The Father Seed.

So, is the need to BE Still and Listen, wait for Great Spirit to work through you. To fill you with LIGHT and KNOWLEDGE, ask for it by name release it into the universe so it can gain energy and manifest into your physical realm.

Well.. that's how it works for my at anyrate. That is what Medataion is all about, connecting with your higher Godself for instruction. Awakening that part of you that is beyond the physical.

My My I do go on, dont I, well, what else is a Hippie to do.

oh thanks you guys. I think I'm beginning to understand my own self and what my gut is telling me, slowly but surely. Something so simple like lying on your bed alone (I do this often), relaxed, allows me to ruminate over recurring thoughts/curiosities/questions etc. and I feel most connected with something...just feels good.

 

im an old alter boy myself and going to church isnt it----but i found that inner divinity behind acid mushrooms and mescaline--being catholic you will at one time or another trip about the holy spirit and you will see for yourself---good luck on a difficult quest---i know we are all of us divine at least 1 atom of us is truely divine----sorry if you dont take drugs i dont know any other way
