So how big of a music freak are you? one can only tell by the amount of music on said hard disk...

I have like 700 songs. If i had an external hardrive i would go crazy but I gotta let my computer breathe.

 

i delete most of my music from my computer once it is on my ipod because i download a lot...

but on my ipod i think i've got about 3000 songs, so you've got me beat

i am getting a new ipod for free with a rebate - i really should get the 120gb classic but i am a geek and really want to play with the 8gb touch, so i'll be getting that.

once i fill the remaining space on my 30gig i will just delete some movies to give me some more room

I've downloaded so many discographies... I did it because I stole a whole bunch of SD cards from school lol.

I just delete them off my computer when I'm done and pop it in when I wanna listen to it.

I can't even explain how much I've downloaded.... haha

 

Fellow music lover myself, although being an audiophile has to do mainly with high-fidelity recordings and playback equipment. Got 16k tracks in my itunes 8)

 

overall it would be different for me as well.. i just got this external a little over a year ago.. before then i would just have to delete what i could live without to make space for new music

 

That what i do.

 

I have 3000 sorted songs. I'm on my family computer, so I can't quite tell you the space it takes up, but I think it's just under 30 gb.
I do have however, far far more music to sort through.

I rarely keep full discs, I typically only keep my favorite songs from each artist, and I tend to go through it every once and awhile to delete any songs I've grown out of taste with.

I'm really not sure, because our main music library is on my boyfriend's computer and I just access it through the network, because he has the behemoth harddrive, whereas mine isn't so big, lol. The playlist he has open right now has 396 hours worth of music on it, lol.

 

Grateful Dead too, got over 20 gigs, god damn dicks picks <3 so many songs

 

yup.. i got the whole dicks picks set.. plus the Road Trips volumes.. which is under the Rhino label.. which is technically the continuation of the Dick's Picks series

 

ohhh I forgot that part.
The most songs I have are Ween, the Pixies, and Jimi Hendrix

And I've been looking to check out the Dead some more - which albums do you recommend most?

 

I have 1386 songs on my itunes currently.. before my previous hard drive blew up i had well over 3,000.

 

My external hard drive currently has 21,312 songs on it. I win!

I have about 500 Dead songs. joker, did you buy all the Dick's Picks CDs? I really really need to find and listen to all of them. I only have like 4 or 5.
