I am here near Pocatello, Idaho with my husband for 2 1/2 weeks, and I was hoping to get in some shopping for some new fall/winter clothes, but obviously I have no idea where to start. I hit some second hand stores today, and a head shop called "Pegasus", but only came home with a denim skirt, but I did hit the jackpot on some old vintage sewing patterns, but they will have to wait until I get home to my studio....anyone know of any good shops near Pocatello or the Boise area? We will be driving around the state some, plus the long drive back to Chicago, plenty of time for shopping.... While I am asking....we recently moved really close to Chicago, and I have had no luck finding good stores that sell Funky People, Gypsy Rose, Jedzebel, or anything hippie and funky...any help there either? I was told to look in the "Belmont" district, or at least I think that was the name....where is it?? Thanks so much!!!
C'mon, people SOMEONE has to know Illinois! Help the sister out! K, you could call GRose and see who orders from them. Their site has the toll-free number.
I'm From Chicago!! YAY! hmm, well belmont would be okay, but i really suggest viva vintage in evanston, and the salvation army there rocks too. There used to be this place called the parking lot, but it's gone now. hummm, out here in the burbs there's this place called tradewinds. it's in crystal lake, which is about 45min. from chicago, trafficless. Gimme awhile and i can call some people who know street nammes and whatnot better than i.
that's so cool.... that was my favorite store, i swear if it was still around now i would buy the place out!
Wonderful! Thanks so much for the help about Chicago...I actually live closer to Oak Brook near Highway 83 and 55, any street names for the stores you mentioned would be so helpful!! My winter wardrobe needs some immediate help! Now if only someone would post about this area in Idaho, I am going just nuts trying to find something to do, and driving my husband nuts since I make him drive me around hunting for second hand stores.
on belmont by belmont and clark , there is a store called Jive Monkey, they sell funky peoplem there as wellas other brands and used clothes. i love it.
I know chicago has a Barneys and a Bloomingdales they have a cool childrens science museum too and I think they have a century 21-which has designer samples which aren't released to the stores yet are lower than what they would be retail and you'll never have the same sweater as anyone else. but they only have 2's 6's and 10's and than really large sizes
