Once your ego is gone don't even try and rebuild it lmao. If you successfully blow away your ego then you start to realize how much you don't need it. The false self (ego imo) only makes you unhappy. It's illusion. It's the self centered ness, the egocentricness, the worried and needy little "me" in your head that you believe in and keep alive by compulsive and useless thinking. Let go. Die to the present and love what ya got Duuuuuuudeee! Peace & Love
that will never happen. it is against human nature. no matter how much u want cirtain things to go away they never will. humans will always have anger, hate, jelousy. u are changing nothing. u are only tricking yourself. just like those damn religuous freaks that think they are so trim and proper. no one is, we all suffer from those human traits no matter what.
I think of it more as an ego overhaul. It seems like death but it's really just the ego getting put to sleep so that it can be worked on or something. It seems from my experience that the ego never really dies or goes away. Like I became the ocean, but I wouldnt know if I was the ocean if my ego weren't there the interpret that. Even when I was dissolved, I could still sense some version of myself there to reflect a fragment of sunlight. There was definitely a form of "me" that slid away and dissolved, but there was another me that remained to experience the ocean. It's interesting to ponder on but doesnt really matter. In many ways there are parts of you that die and as you re-emerge there is much newness to you, like a melted and then re-frozen iceberg. The key thing to me is that there is no fundamental difference between ocean and iceberg, essence and ego. So the fact that the ego never fully dies is irrelevant. Ego in its basic sense is just what separates you from everything else. If there were no ego at all there would be no perception of ego dissolution and no perception of anything. Separation is part of the show. To fully disengage from separation would mean...can't even call it one thing. To call it something is fallacious since naming it is an act of a separate being.
the best way to understand ego death is to experience it with a chemical agent like LSD, psilocybin, or DPT.
what I mean is I have a lack of confidence in my self and who I am as a person. That's what I mean by ego death
???. Ego is how you see yourself. If you have low confidence that isnt the death of ego. You just have a low self esteem ego.
For starters, I recommend anyone seriously into the "ego" business to read the book "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, it changed my life and way of thinking 100% after using LSD. Don't let anyone tell you about your ego, it simply doesn't work, you need to be aware of the ego within you and how it operates specifically before you can even begin to change, build, or conquer it. You can take the easy way and read quotes from the book on various web pages, or you can take the first step towards awakening every last bit of yourSELF by reading the book in its entirety. Here are a few quotes I will leave you with to linger and blossom in your mind; "An essential part of the awakening is the recognition of the unawakened you, the ego as it thinks, speaks, and acts, as well as the recognition of the collectively conditioned mental processes that perpetuate the unawakened state" "...unless you know the basic mechanics behind the workings of the ego, you won't recognize it, and it will trick you into identifying with it again and again" "The quicker you are in attaching verbal or mental labels to things, people, or situations, the more shallow and lifeless your reality becomes, and the more deadened you become to reality" "No ego can last for long without the need for more. Therefore, wanting keeps the ego alive much more than having. The ego wants to want more than it wants to have. And so the shallow satisfaction of having is always replaced by more wanting." "The content of the ego varies from person to person, bu in every ego the same structure operates." "Nonreaction to the ego in others is one of the most effective ways not only of going beyond ego in yourself but also of dissolving the collective human ego. But you can only be in a state of nonreaction if you can recognize someone's behavior as coming from the ego, as being an expression of the collective human dysfunction. When you realize it's not personal, there is no longer a compulsion to react as if it were." "The moment you become aware of the ego in you, it is strictly speaking no longer the ego, but just an old, conditioned mind-pattern. Ego implies unawareness. Awareness and ego cannot coexist." "All egoic motivations are self-enhancement and self-interest, sometimes cleverly disguised, even from the person in whom the ego operates." It gets very deep, and the change in consciousness is severe yet worth it, if you are blessed with the true ego death experience and understand this book to the fullest, the only change and building you will want to do after is being. Good luck with your journey
yeah that's what I mean, my ego is dead because I dont know who I am anymore. I used to know i was an artist, a musician, a sensitive guy etc. But now I dont know who I am anymore, its like I have to rediscover it.
Well brighten up and get to learning, because that is your first step according to Mr. Tolle, actually he even quotes someone saying this exact thing to him, in which he replied "congratulations". (I will try to find the exact paragraph to quote for you) Smile "Unconscious people – and many remain unconscious, trapped in their egos throughout their lives – will quickly tell you who they are: their name, their occupation, their personal history, the shape or state of their body, and whatever else they identify with. Others may appear to be more evolved because they think of themselves as an immortal soul or living spirit. But do they really know themselves, or have they just added some spiritual sounding concepts to the content of their mind? Knowing yourself goes far deeper than the adoption of a set of ideas or beliefs. Spiritual ideas and beliefs may at best be helpful pointers, but in themselves they rarely have the power to dislodge the more firmly established core concepts of who you think you are, which are part of the conditioning of the human mind. Knowing yourself deeply has nothing to do with whatever ideas are floating around in your mind. Knowing yourself is to be rooted in Being, instead of lost in your mind."
You're welcome, I hope nobody ever finds themselves in such a position to feel like they are "nobody" anymore, and grow strong enough from it and conquer their true selves and then witness the new life they lead. Anyway, here it is right from the book: "I usually congratulate people when they tell me, “I don't know who I am anymore.” Then they look perplexed and ask, “Are you saying it is a good thing to be confused?” I ask them to investigate. What does it mean to be confused? “I don't know “ is not confusion. Confusion is: “I don't know, but I should know” or “I don't know, but I need to know.” is it possible to let go of the belief that you should or need to know who you are? In other words, can you cease looking to conceptual definitions to give you a sense of self? Can you cease looking to thought for an identity? When you let go of the belief that you should or need to know who you are, what happens to confusion? Suddenly it is gone. When you fully accept that you don't know, you actually enter a state of peace and clarity that is closer to who you truly are than thought could ever be. Defining yourself through thought is limiting yourself." Bless
a book is only one persons perspective. it is only their experiences. there is only one way to do it, and thats your own way.' if u start reading these books than ur just copying that persons experiences. u need to come to your own conclusions and write them down, make your own book one day. not listen to some other dickhead and trying to make sense of him. alot of the time these boooks are bullshit. its for suckers that are lost and trying to put some meaning into their lives. no different to turning to religion. becarefull. i beleive its important to figure things out for youself after you have lost yourself. thats the whole point isnt it. to start fresh and see things from a new point of view. work things out for you, and be confident in them. i have alot of very strong beleifs now. i love it. and i was never weak enough to ever listen to anyone. i peiced it all together in my own mind.
i dont know ive taken soo much acid mushrooms mescline--and i went on power trips where my ego seemed stronger---megalomania-----maybe im just brain damaged
LOL for calling Eckhart Tolle a dickhead. Strong unawares Pete. Some people are actually not out there to deceive people.
well i guess im just the one to be my own person, and not follow the crowd like so many do. its one thing to follow everyone eleses beleifs but its another to have your own ideas, and beleive in somthing not just because everyone else beleives in it. its important to have ur own beleifs and not just jump into a religion or some dickheads book. i guess i assoiciate with my beleif not to wear shoes to most places. why do i need shoes to go to the mall? its not a construction site? why would i wear shoes just because everyone else wears them, and u are supose to wear them? i am confident enough in myself to have my own ideas and stick with them. i dont do the norm bullshit.
whatever... most of the acid inspired shit written by trippers and all that crap is actually just tripped out bullshit. i know iv done enough acid to know. it makes nonsense sound like it has so much meaning and sense to you. but its nonsense. its just stupid and insane
You go to the mall like everyone else. I go barefoot here in hawaii all the time. At the beach or around the house. But a Mall? Nope. Too many chemicals on the ground, rat feces, etc. to be absorbed by my skin transdermally, foot fugus... Mostly though the mall is full of the kind of people I'm not interested in. Crowds and shoppers. me? I don't go to the mall like everyone else.
