Alright. A couple months ago, I started having panic attacks when I smoked weed, so I quit. I thought it was something with my heart, but after a lot of reading, I'm pretty sure its panic attacks. I haven't had one since I quit smoking, and I've smoked once in the past month and a half, and I didn't have one. Anyway, when I drink my heart will beat really fast. Sometimes 120-150bpm, and since I'm drunk I tend to worry about it. I've learned to live with it, but when I'm drunk it really annoys me. Is there any explanation, or do you think its just anxiety? I'm not worried about my heart before I drink, I don't even think about it, but after i'm a little drunk I notice it beating really fast, and kind of have it on my mind the entire time.

What do you suggest I do?

I seriously suggest you to QUIT! It seems like somebody up there is trying to tell you it is time you stop wasting yourself!

Weed always induced panic attacks in me, too. And I was about your age when I had to quit smoking it, because I couldn't handle it.

I think osama was trying to tell you to quit drinking, smoking pot, etc. My advice is to avoid that which causes you panic attacks. It just isn't worth it....

Hey Primus. I have had panic attacks since I was 5 years old.. I'm 17 now. For a while they were really bad, but now I can handle it. Marijuana does make you more likely to have panic attacks, so does alcohol. Also.. you might notice that if you have things with alot of caffine (coffee, chocolate, soda)... that'll some times trigger an attack. Your brain makes a chemical called ceratonin. If you eat certain foods, drinks, or drugs, or be put into a certain situation the ceratonin level could get too high, or too low, causing a person to have an attack. It's not always chemically related.. sometimes it does just happen. Once you do have a panic attack.. whether it's a really strong one, or like.. mild... you are more at risk to get it again.
I think that you should just completely cut back on smoking weed and drinking.. or even quit. But.. if you're not up to quitting... then just do it every once and a while... but not all the time.
Alrighty.. hope I helped. If you have any other questions PM me.

i had a panic attack the last time i smoked too. i smoke so seldom, i don't know if that's normal for me or not.

i suffered panic attacks for years. i think the biggest obstacle to overcoming them for me were the prescription drugs i was being given to "control" them. i mean it when i say i didn't show any progress at all until i got off them.

you can stop panic attacks yourself, once you learn to pay attention to your body and know what's happening. pay attention to your heart, your breath, and your thoughts. these are your clues that you're having a panic attack. lots of people think they're dying when they're having a panic attack. you are not dying, but you do need to get your breathing and thoughts under control. if your heart is racing, slow your breath. if you can't slow your breathing, change your thoughts.

Yeah, the whole being high while thinking your heart is about to explode thing is a buzz kill.
Question is..can you really still enjoy being in an altered state with that going on...and if not...then why are you stil doing it? Ya know the rulez...if ya get drunk or whateva for fun it's recreational..if you still do it when it's not fun anymore then that my dear is addiction.

You probably need to stay away from recreational drugs. I used to get panic attacks from weed (back in the old timey days, LOL) so I stopped. I never drink, I don't use any recreationals anymore.

If you never had panic attacks unless you are Under the Influence, you are lucky. Some people get them all the time. You know what triggers yours, and what you have to do to prevent them from happening.

Sorry dude. Some people can't party. But it is fun to make fun of all the drunks at a party, when you are the only sober one. At least, I think it is fun!
