i just started taking yaz birth control pills earlier this week; i started the day of my period instead of a sunday start, and according to proper instructions provided with the box, it says i should be good to go now, after my period and all. good to go meaning, my boyfriend can come inside of me; i know there is a very slight risk with any birth control, but my friend argues that i should wait a month or so before i even mess around with semen swimming around inside of me. can any of you ladies offer me some wisdom about this pill and my situation? i once took yaz when i was 18 and had my boyfriend at the time come inside of me, and i never experienced any kind of pregnancy...but perhaps i was just lucky? i guess really what my question is, is yaz as effective as it says it is as soon as it is taken for seven days? or should i wait a month or so to let my body settle into it as my friend says? i cannot afford to get pregnant at this point in my life, and if i've somehow been deceived by these instructions, i would love to know...
I received the same notice in my box. However, I was advised by my doctor to wait a month, and so that is what I would recommend for you as well. Be on the safe side.
yaz messed up my liver, it's one of the side effects that could happen, and it happened to me. but i haven't been pregnant before, and i've been on yaz and femecon.
ya id use some type of backup...spermicide? i always thought it was a good option. my boyfriends allergic but you just put the film inside you...it dissolves and vwala!
