Hello all. I'm very, very inexperienced in this area. I'm very interested, and I'm capable being "not focused, not concentrated, but aware." One of my friends described the sort of "trances" she goes into, and it sounded exactly like what happens to me when I smoke pot. It requires me not to focus, but only to be aware. I can do it for about 2 minutes record time, and I usually can do it for 20-30 seconds. When I try hard, I can get up to a minute or so. Does this have anything to do with anything psychic? My vision distorts, I see everything a little different, everything shifts around sometimes, and my depth perception shifts around like crazy. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated, book references, books I should read, websites, personal advice, etc. Thanks!
Hey, Biscut - a little hard to say, from my viewpoint. The kind of state you're describing could make you more receptive to psychic input. But the experience you describe doesn't sound like anything specifically psychic, in and of itself. If you're looking for psychic experiences, I would say continue meditation - but personally I would ditch the weed for this purpose. It might give you cool sensory experiences, but I don't think it's any help for psychic impressions, and may be a hindrance - but that's just me; others will probably tell you it's great for psychic stuff. It's also important to intend a psychic experience, and to believe it will happen - because it's real, Biscut - I and lots of others on this forum have extensive experience with it. "Not focused, not concentrated, but aware" - this is a good state for receiving psychic impressions. However I would tend to think you'll find the actual psychic impression come at odd times when you're not expecting them, rather than during your meditations. Yet, the meditations will help tune your mind better, so you'll be more sensitive to the impressions when they come. The book I always recommend is The Psychic Pathway, by Sonia Choquette. Also another of her books: Your Heart's Desire. Best wishes for your journey.
^ that's what I wanted to know.. To OP, Good to hear you're aware. You've begun the journey, now find the path. You'll know which way is the right way when you get to it.
