Hi, I was looking at starting to make clay beads big enough for dreads and peyote stitches because there's none around here really, I live like 6 stores down from a bead store here and could sell them there and next door is hempware, our local headshop and they carry dread gear so I could sell them there too.

My question is what kind of clay do I use? I know how the peyote stitches work, I just need to know what clay to use... and maybe some "how to" for certain patterns...

    please and thank you!

I wish I could help you, but sadly I know nothing of the sort (well, about clay, that is)
but I wish have great luck with your adventuring into the world of bead making!

oh I will, I can't wait to get started, I picked up some peyote beads today but have to wait until they get the thread in.
and I have to wait until I'm not poor to get the clay, I can't even afford to drive to the art supply store :(

we sell a lot of stuff like hamsters and girbils, bunnies, guinea pigs, budgies, finches, canaries, cockatiels, lots of different fish and random reptiles.... I admid, some of them probably come from crappy suppliers that should NOT be on the go. but most come from local homes... ALL our bunnies come from local breeders, they have bunnies who they breed sometimes and give the babies to us, we don't have guinea pigs very often because breeding is somewhat dangerous and it's just whenever we get them. ALL kittens (and the rare couple of puppies) that we sell are from homes where peoples cat gets pregnant and they don't want the kittens and want them to go to good homes, we get them to feed the kittens the best food we have and then we deworm and sell them, with all the free kittens around there if someone's willing to pay $70 for a kitten then they obviously intend on giving it a good home.

Unfortunately not, I've only been back there a week and only worked there a short while about 2 years ago. I would run it by my boss though, like, give them a portion of the money we get selling the litter to spay their cat. Cat's are so grosly overpopulated:(
all the staff is really knowledgeable though and I've done a few vet assistant job's so i know a lot about animal care and one of the girls is leaving to go to school to be a vet tech, a lot of us are hobbyists in certain areas, we have a guy who know's a lot about fish, I'm a small animal and dog/cat person. We all know a good bit about fish and birds through the training we had, I hear that unfortunately a lot of pet stores hire uneducated people and don't train them... the "advice" and other bull i've heard at the big pets unlimited here is digusting... and their puppy mill puppies make me so sad.... always 2 puppies of a breed, always like $900+, it's so obvious...
    It's so sad.
I really wish that pet stores didn't sell animals and the ones that did ONLY sold animals and was specifically for breeding healthy pets... one can dream i suppose:(

any websites you can order it off?

i used to go to hobbycraft to get my fimo, its £1.69 a block and costs about £5 petrol to get there/back.. found a website, fimo is £1.35 a block, and postage is £3 for orders under £10, so it works out better for me =]
