Living here in Vegas, I am lucky to have the Boulder Station Casino with their free Thursday Night Blues concerts. I have been able to witness and film many concerts here. Anyway, on to the subject, who are your favorite blues guitarists of today. I will list a few of mine which I have seen and filmed at the aforementioned venue. Joe Bonamassa-Absolutely amazing Walter Trout-A man on fire Coco Montoya- The fat man plays and sings some sweet blues Chris Duarte-Sometimes I think he is still on drugs, as he is a wild man, lol Kelly Richey-She is the best female guitarist I have ever seen, and better than most males Honorable mention to: Smokin Joe Khubek Anthony Gomes Roy Rogers And, hard to believe, but other bands that have played at this venue for Thursday Night Blues which I dont consider as blues: Wishbone Ash Savoy Brown Honeytribe
I definitely think Joe Bonamassa is the best young blues soloist around today, he's got some feel, and a technique that reminds me of the late, great, SRV..
Joe Bonamassa rocks!!! He played with BB King when he was like 12 or 13(fairly young) Joe Bonamassa is very talented.
I worship Marc Ford's guitar sound ........but Joe Bonamassa ain't too bad either http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=xQyTvg9q5yM&
Steady Rollin Bob Margolin was the first one I thought of Oh, theres a guy named Les Paul who is pretty decent too.
Yes it is, on Boulder Highway. I see that recently the Texas Station on Friday nights has been picking up the same artists that play at the Boulder on Thursday nights. The Sante Fe Station was doing this for awhile on Wednesday nights, but that wasnt a very good idea. Thursday nights at the Boulder are always happenin, hope it works for the Texas on Friday nights. And the Texas Station is at the corner of Rancho and Lake Mead Blvd.
I have seen many of the greatest guitarest for the last 40 years and nobody comes close to Joe Bonamassa I have watched him perform many times and he is just increadible. He is humble and funny when he speakes and can sing as good as he plays. His playing dominates todays blues and intimadates other guitarests When Joe starts a show the great guitarests in heaven say sh 'the kid is starting to play.' Joe has a level head and does not carry the baggage of greats gone by. I will never miss his performance in NY & NJ area.
