Metal... you have a good point. We should be supporting businesses that create good Canadian jobs. I'm just want people to realize that we already have... Why do you think big biz set's up shop where they have. could it be because the people are hard workers and they want to reward them with good paying jobs or is it because of the following: - close to lots of somewhat educated working age people that can follow instructions - close to manufacturing plants and cheap water/electric sources - no zoning issues cause the municipality will push it through(dispite environmental concerns...) - subsidies from all levels of government to set up shop in the first place - Tax breaks and other incentives again from all levels of govenment - Low Canadian dollar and low import/export taxes... I could go on but I hope you can see that the Canadian people have already spent billions of dollars on these companies to set them up and to keep them going time and time again. At some point you just have to pull the plug to stop the senseless suffering. Why prolong a dying industry when it should have been reformed years ago. Like removing a band-aid (cause that's what a bailout does...) it hurts for a bit if you do it fast but it's agony if you do it slow. And I too hope to see some truly Canadian cars on the road. Cars that live up to peoples expectations, are foward thinking, easy to repair and maintain, and affordable while still providing just enough of a profit margin to pay it's employees a fair wage. I would also love it if this company was employee owned instead of shareholder owned. I don't however want to see these gas guzzling, monsters on the road that take computers to fix cause mechanics can't diagnose the problems... I don't want to see an ad that promises more horsepower, 99% of people will never actually use and that even less than 0.01% know what HP actually does. I want to see speed limits reduced to that magic number( i think it's around 88 kms/hr) where the average car efficiency coefficient is at it's maximum. I also want to see the price of gas increase so people may think twice before driving a block to the corner store so they can get a bag of chips and a tub of chemicals to dip them in. I want a lot of changes and I hope we start by stopping to bail out failing industries. At least not the way it's being done presently.
