Written by Pamela Des Barres, I'm half-way through and it's a pretty good read. As far as being controversial, I'm interested in other people's thoughts on the whole "groupie" term, but as I read this book, the only thing I feel is jealousy. ;)

I do recommend it for anyone with an interest in the time of musical revolution (and so much more...)

I read that when it came out, and I had some issues with how men saw the women, but that was the climate of the time (and some musicians are still that way).
Groupie is an objectifying term, but Pamela did her best to make it positive.
She was an early sex-positive role model for me.

I liked it. It was an interesting view of all these people we have known, loved and worshiped.
