Do you know how a real clock works?

without google, without wikipedia, without using any reference works, or anything, just, you personally, do you know how a REAL, clockwork clock, without electronic components works?

could you figure it out?

I can't tell you off the top of my head, but yes, I could totally figure it out. I have access to a SHITLOAD of clocks, clocks were my grandpa's hobby.

 

the second hand turns, then it makes the minute hand turn and that makes the hour hand turn..

i'm in the do not care club as well.


i thought there was a spring in there that gets tightened and then slowly untightens, or something along those lines. but i'm never building a clock so if i'm wrong it should affect nothing.

 

yeah, its a spring. i'm mechanically inclined but it would be a waste of my time to figure out without looking in a book.
