without google, without wikipedia, without using any reference works, or anything, just, you personally, do you know how a REAL, clockwork clock, without electronic components works? could you figure it out? do you care?
I can't tell you off the top of my head, but yes, I could totally figure it out. I have access to a SHITLOAD of clocks, clocks were my grandpa's hobby.
i'm in the do not care club as well. i thought there was a spring in there that gets tightened and then slowly untightens, or something along those lines. but i'm never building a clock so if i'm wrong it should affect nothing.
yeah, its a spring. i'm mechanically inclined but it would be a waste of my time to figure out without looking in a book.
