I'm talking about the individuals in the military that simply follow orders.

I'm not sure I follow the claim of the op here.
Hitler used religion a lot.As did Bxsh, and virtual all Imperialist genociders. And the behaviour of certain "churches" during Nazi Grmany was an absolute fucking disgrace.

Stalin was pretty much the only exception. And Stalin didnt ban religion anyway.Simply the cancerous antics of the Tsar allied Russian Orthodox CHurch.

Religion can be misused to rally imbeciles. But when read by fruitcases, it also creates even bigger maniacs in government.

Religion doesnt mean spiritual. It means to "religiously follow".Some might argue that by definition, *that* is a type of fundamentalism.

It really shocks me that spiritual values, customs and beliefs eg in Christianity are actually hijacked by utterly vile people sometimes.

All this "only God can judge", "death isnt bad"(when killing etc), "you only have to love God" and u "dont have to be nice to be a Christian" etc, is shit that I find horifying when used by so called religious people sometimes.

    soldiers.

this is the distinction between a soldier and a warrior.

most soldiers don't understand that distinction though.
