I live in a rather small town at the moment. Although am joining the army next month and after basic training, I have no idea where I will be posted to.

I don't find anything wrong with "women" clothing. Rather I find it more natural. I have no problem dressing up when I am by myself, it is more about how other people will react. I guess I just do not know what to expect from other people.

Also if I go to a gender therapist, do I have to keep the same one? Seeing as that would be rather difficult.

Why does it confuse you that there would be humor?

Feeling I was born in the wrong body myself, I fail to see anything amusing about the hell that Ive endured and still am enduring through my life, and many others who have suffered severe depression, self harming, and even suicide due to feeling the gender opposite to the one percieved at birth because of born sex anatomy. For me, and countless others who are living an extremely hard life due to being born with something we had no control over, it is anything but humoros, or something to laugh about.

You know that saying, "If you don't laugh, you'll cry"?
People find the humor in their situations, often as a way to deal with things beyond comprehension. Why do you think so many comedians deal with depression. They were depressed before and comedy was a way for them to deal with it.
Look for the humor, you'll find it. What may seem impossible to deal with one day can be a bit easier the next and it's easier to laugh at yourself once you've come to terms with who you are.

I came to terms with who I am a long time ago. But the fact my body still feels completely wrong, am not able to freely enter into a relationship, and that I feel like a freak are things that still deeply upset me. I cannot see anything remotely good, or funny about being like this. And it hurts even more when others think people like me are just a source of ridicule, and amusement. But then, Im sure lots of people think me, and others like me choose to be the way we are, and therefore deserve no sympathy, or shouldnt be surprised if we're laughed at. Living with this is more than just about depression, because your whole being is compromised, and you will never be seen by most people at least, as what you really are. Maybe there are some people that enjoy being "trannies", and obviously transvestites like what they're doing, so maybe they can see the humor in themselves, and things to laugh at. Being born in the wrong body though, is anything but a laughing matter, and it hurts when other people who dont understand anything about it, find it a source of comedy.

I think thats the problem, people making no distinction between people who genuinely feel they were born in the wrong body, and "gender bending" types. I myself, am not "gender bending", I just simply want to be seen as the gender Ive always felt I am. People like me have no desire to "gender bend", just to be acknowledged as our real gender, nothing more. I have no problem with people who "gender bend", but there is a big difference between people like that, and people who feel trapped in the wrong body, and that their genders were wrongly assigned at birth. I would like to see a distinction made, instead of people throwing every person who doesnt fit into society's strict gender binary into one big box of "gender bending weird".

Invisible - I think you are misinterpreting the humor being referred to here. I am referring to a laugh at yourself deal. No malicious intentions.

The distinctions you are talking about are also understood.

I find nothing remotely amusing about my predicament, so how can I laugh at myself? Anyway, Im sure there's plenty of other people who will do that on my behalf...

By you, perhaps. But plenty of other people do not make that distinction. I would be treated as no different from someone who is happy being a "chick with a dick", by a lot of people, and that is the thing that upsets me.

Alright Invisible, I get it. Your life is terrible, you live in utter pain and termoil. I'm sorry you don't see the humor in life. Even in the darkest places people can find the humor, if they're able to look beyond their pain. My friend was molested as a child, she makes jokes about it now. You just either haven't come to terms with who you really are, or you are just not willing to look past your pain and choose, instead, to dwell. So I no longer have any urge to clearify my intentions with you. If you choose to believe we are all singling you out for mortifying humor, go ahead. We'll continue to talk amongst ourselves.

if your have sexual identity problems then they are truely only fueled by your financial means.
Therefore go put on a skirt that hurts and flirt, make some admirers set up a pay pal account and get paid!! put your money in a bank and get your shit right..
I hate when you have to spell it out for people..

I didnt say you were "singling me out". I dont know where you got that impression from. I was talking on behalf of the many people who are in similar situations that I am, who do not find it funny when people find their predicaments a joke, or that they are a source of amusement purely for being who they are. You dont have to clarify your intentions to me, or anyone else, Im simply stating some people dont find it funny, and the reasons for why that is. I have come to terms with who I am, the problem is, most people dont, or wont accept me for who I am. Just because someone doesnt find their predicament "amusing", doesnt mean they havent come to terms with who they are.

This is exactly the type of ignorance Im talking about. You havent got a clue have you? I take it by "admirers" you mean tranny chasers? I have no interest in being with, or flirting with anyone who's only interest in me is that Im a "tranny". I want to be accepted as simply female, is that fact really so hard to grasp? Ideally, I would like to be in a loving relationship with a man who treats me, and loves me for who I am. Simply a woman. Seeing as there's not much chance of that happening, Id rather remain alone thank you. And I wouldnt compromise my dignity for money either. Funny I just had to spell it out for you...

I have actually been on hormones for a lot of years, (and had psychitaric assessmentr for 2 years prior to that) though my treatment wasnt very good, (being kept on a starting hormone dose for years without me realising I should have been on a much higher dose) and havent been able to fund my surgery, so Im still in the limbo that Ive been in all my life.
