i sometimes take a while to get around to watching movies that "everybody" has seen

there are lots of movies that it seems almost everyone has watched but me. same with music and books and things. but this is about movies.

anyway, i just watched stargate for the first time last night. there were some cheesy action movie bits in it, but overall it was a pretty damn good movie. i really enjoyed it.


what have you recently seen for the first time thats you have been meaning to get to for years?

 

I was just talking about something like this earlier. I've never seen Donnie Darko, but everyone has. I haven't watched it lately, though.. I've still never watched it.

Anyways, I saw Austin Powers for the first time recently, and American Pie too

It feels like I've seen every "must watch" movie out there.

I really can't think of a supposedly "good" one that I haven't seen.

I'm not really into Hollywood classics though, so I haven't seen Ben Hur and stuff like that.

 

there are a few amazing classics. i haven't seen ben hur though.


i haven't seen the goonies, either. it looks awful, and despite what many people claim, i think i'm probably right

 

Yeah, there are some good classics, and I've probably seen them already.

Never realized the "The Goonies" was considered a good movie. Looks like complete shit.

if you haven't seen it yet, lawrence of arabia is epic. also repulsion. very different though haha

Looks like it could be somewhat interesting if it's not too overkill.

 

it looks cheesy and parts of it are, but i think it's pretty good. not AMAZING, but i think it deserves to be considered a classic horror/suspense film

 

people are really pushing me to watch Goodwill Hunting. i feel like i'm the only guy in southie who has never seen that movie haha.

 

Goodwill Hunting is sappy as fuck.

Saving Private Ryan isn't the best movie in the world, but it's totally worth watching. I like war movies in general though.

(Pearl Harbor is shit though. Half of it is a gay ass love story, while the other half is CGI bombing)

You've never seen ANY Nightmare on Elm Street movie? I remember that one of them came out in 3D.

Won't even comment about The Terminator... not having seen it by now can be correlated to not knowing who The Beatles are.

 

oh, i'm currently downloading eraserhead so i can finally see all of it.

but thats not something everyone's seen, i guess. just a cult film
