I like Donnie Darko but I haven't seen it in a couple years. I guess I just enjoyed it for what it was and didn't really try to analyze it.

ive never seen it either...im sure i would have watched it but this emo chick from my high school used to love it and talk about it all the time and i just made it a habbit to tell her she was wrong no matter what she said lol

It's a decent movie, but it makes itself out to be like it's something special, as do all it's hardcore fans; but really, it has nothing to say.
If it didn't act like it was deep, people would just be more of like 'yeah, it's okay' instead, it brought controversy onto itself, for better or worse.

Again, it's a decent movie, and well worth a watch, if for no other reason, as to prepare yourself for the song Donnie Darko by the great comedian Tim Minchin.
But it's nothing special.

 

Really no point in delving deeper in this, all points are rather moot.

 

The one part that really moved me was the ending. I don't really remember it and wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone. I just recall thinking it was very beautiful.

Eh, it's a nice thought, but I think the same idea has been done much better in other movies.
For one, Return of the Jedi.
