I heard today that the Canadian governement have agree to "chip in" to help bail out the US auto industry? Has anyone else heard this? I think that's UTTER bullshit.
I heard something about them helping Chrysler...but I'm pretty sure it means helping the Canadian part of Chrysler ..and I agree with the UTTER BULLSHIT part
I heard it on the radio and I havent googled it or anything, that's why I wanted you canuks to tell me more. While I smoke.
Maybe this will learn you...I dont know what it says because there too many words http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20090330/auto_canada_090330/20090330?hub=Canada
The federal and Ontario governments have agreed to extend $4 billion in stop-gap funding for GM and Chrysler's Canadian arms, but have offered little to the suppliers.
just because it's canadian taxpayers bailing out the canadian side of big business doesn't make it right. poorly managed businesses should fail, good ones should flourish. The governments job is supposed to make the flourish side easier and make it an even playing feild for all, not to throw good money after bad.
Definitely. I'd much rather bike the 120km round trip to and from town every day for the 8-5. Or wait, should one move into the city to work, thus putting up with the urban issues of vandalism, theft, invasion of privacy and by-law headaches? I suppose I could support foreign dependency, sacrifice comfort, safety and national employment rates by purchasing a foreign vehicle instead of strengthening our own automobile industry in effort to come up to par with foreign reliability. Side note : now that Magna has purchased Opel, lets see some true canadian vehicles on the road
