Dear Kooks--Only you hippies and folks that think (or actually, don't think) like you could ever come up with a conspiracy theory that the 2004 election was stolen. So, President George W. Bush received more votes than any American President in the history of the United States, and somehow he and Karl Rove rigged that, too? And they rigged the defeat of Sen. Tom Dashcle (D-SD) as well? The reason you lost this election is that the American people will NEVER embrace you or your thoughts, and everytime your hero, Michael Moore, opened his mouth, he did more damage to John Kerry. This election proved that the U.S. Constitution still works. 286 to 254. Yep, still works.
Some more interesting evidence this morning- http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/110704V.shtml Karl, I am not worried about myself. I am worried about the hundreds of people who will go hungry because the food banks have gone bust, the mounting numbers of people that will be homeless this winter, and the soldiers and civilians dying in Iraq right now because Bush wants enough jet fuel to get him to mars before the world blows up. (sarcasm) People who made under 30,000 a year overwhelmingly voted for Kerry- http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/states/OH/P/00/epolls.0.html And you look through the exit polls and the votes you can spot some irregularities yourself. I don't think checks and balances will help us anymore. If people made a concerted effort they could prove me wrong, but I doubt they will. Everyone is to tired or to busy just trying to survive. Please prove me wrong peoples!
They didn't. First-time voters broke about 55-44% for Kerry, according to the CNN exit poll. There's always isolated cases of fraud, but there simply were not enough to affect the outcome of the election. I think you are quite mistaken about that. Again I direct you to CNN's national exit poll. I direct you to the horrible filth that voters in 11 states voted to add to their state's constitution.
In your opinion.... Just how do you consider yourself sufficiently informed to make such a statement? Isolated cases? There were widespread cases, any thinking person should be suspicious at the very least. They covered it up, it won't be easy to prove, but that doesn't mean we should not try. I'm not at all mistaken. It is not religious fanatics that disapprove of gay marriage, rather most people, religious or not, are uncomfortable with the idea. Even some gays themselves. It was too early to push this in peoples faces, we have to take reform of this sort slowly, let people get used to the idea. I don't for a second believe that the people who came out and voted for those bans on gay marriage also voted strictly for Bush, that is a flawed assumption. I know several people who are not in favor of gay marriage, but voted for Kerry. My state didn't have that on the ballots, but I know these people would have voted against it.
Sound familiar. Like, say, every fucking decision Dubya has made since he weazeled his way into office the first time?
Karl-You said it well. Has anyone on this website done anything for their country? At least you use your brain, and I'm impressed because you "get it." I wonder if all these hippies sit around as they gnash their teeth, wondering to themselves, "Why is it that the American people have NEVER embraced our way of life...ever?" Interesting thought.
First off, plenty of Americans have embraced the hippy way of life. Second, America isn't about everyone living the same exact way. We don't have to all embrace the same lifestyle for that lifestyle to exist, or even for it to be positive. And third, it doesn't really matter if people on this site have done anything for their country, although many have. Most of us voted (liberals and conservatives here), and many of us voice our opinions, discuss issues, and try to stay informed. Many join in protests, many here have served in the military, etc... But it doesn't matter. I am so sick and tired of hearing the argument "what do you do for the country, stop whining, etc..." This is a forum for us to come and discuss issues, wether any of us do something about it in our country or not. In fact, taking an interest alone is doing a lot for this country, since so many have no interest in our political system. But we don't have to divulge our personal lives here and make a list of our daily activites in order to participate in conversation. You don't have to be up in wasington changing the country in order to voice your opinion. So what do you expect when you come to the politics forums? If you are looking for all our daily schedules you are in the wrong place. If you are coming to discuss politics and issues related, then I suggest you stop trolling and actually put some intelligent thought into your posts.
I served two tours in vietnam, and I'm totally disabled from my service to this country. What have YOU done? And,I'm damn proud to be a "hippy" as I was when I was in the war.Just because I chose a hippy lifesytle, doesn't mean I won't fight when it is needed. As for election fraud,I believe it was done. Not that the outcome would change(maybe),but I do believe that the powers that be had their hand in the cookie jar.I trust the bush regime about as far as I can throw my house. All I can do now is write my elected officials and hope that they will keep our rights intact, although the neocons would have otherwise.
How can anyone not see that it is a complete conflict of intrest when Diebold's CEO is a major contributor to Bush's campaign...regardless of what he said about delivering Ohio to Bush. Conservatives would be all up in arms if a corporation funding democrats was producing our electronic voting machines. We may as well have handed our votes over to the GOP to be counted...
while I do not believe that the voting system is very accurate or fair, it is not hard to believe that Bush won Ohio. Outside of the cities, excluding the tight ass Cincinnati, Ohio is made up of smaller towns...the ones in the North-East are industrial, and the places that lost the most jobs and went for Kerry. The ones in the Northwest and central areas are farming towns made up of christians and hicks mainly, they went Bush, and the southern part is essentially west virginia. Where I live is that blue county in the middle of a sea of red....the votes of 2 of the C's (Columbus and Cleveland) was not enough to beat the lame C (Cincinnati) and all of the rural areas....it almost was, but not quite.
because the american people are know around the world, and ive have been around the world, as being stupid. this country sucks. thats it, im leaving.
This is not a conspiracy theory: Someone was apparently very successful in getting out the vote for Bush during the last election. For example, In Fairview Park, outside Cleveland they officially recorded 18,472 votes. What is the problem with that? There are only 13,342 registered voters. In Florida there were 29 counties which Bush carried by a landslide. What is the problem with that? Registered Democrats make up to 88% of the voters in those counties. So what? The only thing these counties have in common is that Diebold provided the equipment and tabulations in those counties. The head of Diebold is one of Bush's biggest contributors and fund raisers.
Don't hold your breath waiting for it. The media is not liberal nor is it interested in accountability, certainly not where this most corporate-profit serving administration is concerned. The Rove media cabal is firmly set for four more years of gratuitous backscratching.
LickHERish, you're right. If nothing is done the Republicans will forever remain in power. Eventually you will just be asked if you are a member of the party.
