Will prices go UP or DOWN if marijuana is legalized?

Doubt it, what would they do. They already try that and it fails miserably

 

If they legalize the plant they cant effectively ILLEGALIZE the production of it

I know they do it with pharmaceuticals but its natural yo just like a tree

 

depends on the terms, legal to grow and have means lower price. It would take 5-6 months for grows to finish, and seeds may be spendy for a while, but then simple economics means supply goes up demand stays the same or goes up less than supply, then price is lower.

 

Overall the prices would go down.

But you could still spend a pretty penny on some exotic

 

prices in general would drop. quality would go up. but the price on extreemely quality or rare strains would rise.

 

maybe, especially if california legalizes it to help with the debt/deficit/whatever it is. grow your own, the government can't tax it. i dunno...i guess they could set up a program where you buy a license to grow and can only grow a certain amount or something...but that kind've program might cost more money than it makes.

 

Tobacco is legal to grow, just not legal to sell without going through the proper channels.

I'd imagine it would be the same thing with cannabis, being legal to grow for personal use, but still illegal to grow and then sell/distribute.

For you cali med users, does the state tax your cannabis? If so, do you have any idea on how they tax it, like it being taxed based on price, or based on quantity.

 

I am all for legalizing weed. And hell yes I will be growing it when it is legal! More for me and I can make sure it is seedless and organic. That is always the best quality herb man.

 

I think the prices would probably drop. And maybe they can treat those who grow like farmers who have corn or something, haha. Like they can grow it for use themselves, or they can make somewhat of a business selling it.

 

they would drop duh! the only reason there's high prices is coz of the illegality and because of supply and demand.. basic economics ppl =/

It'll be legal someday. It's just a matter of time, imo. More and more people are beginning to realize it's not some dangerous crazy drug just because it's illegal.

Though the fat cats who don't want hemp to take over certain industries are going to cause problems as far as legalization. Money talks, and they have it all.

 

itll go down once its legal, without the illegality theres no danger and therefore you can openly sell and grow and earn more money, but it wont go down alot
