my dreadyhair *timeline*

8months 1week and 6days according to that timeline I found. Some lame ass photos with my new lame ass 'faux' nerd chic glasses which I think are pretty rad. Found them for €1 at a flea market. I mean wtf, who makes this shiz? I'm a div for buying I suppose-and even worse for wearing. lulz. so my dreads are doing their thing. Looping, in need of a root touch up, shrinking, looking insane. Some pics I took while waiting for the kettle to boil and one from the other day that my sister took where I think it shows them off well.

 

I call these nubins the assholes annoy the fhok out of me. There is about 4 of them, so shrunk up and some made of baby hair and they won't tie up. grow bitches!

loopy! yeah, i hate when they shrink to the pont that you can't put them in a ponytail. mine are to think to get a normal sized band around.

 

THey're looking great Lux. And in regards to teh sites being longer cuz you twiddle them (different thread) my front ones are like that too... more straight and longer than the rest of the hair.

Probly because there's not many people who are in the in between stage like you. most people either have really young or really mature dreads

 

true, bet they'll still be this crazy at 1yr though. I've never seen anyone with crazy loops like mine. whaddap with my barnet? what I like about the loops is that they give em volume

 

I think Pat may be right. I'm just over four months and only discovered my hair trying to congo at around four months and just in the back. Plus my hair is pin straight so i think it may take a little longer to get wild.

 

I'm sure there are plenty of people who lurk around here that have dreads around the same age, they probably don't post that much, looks fine to me anyway. Are you still using lush shampoo or have you switched to something else?

 

I just wash with water now. I had an 'accident' with one of the lush bars which scared me off using them again. A bit of seaweed got in my eye and it f-ing hurt so much my eye was bloodshot the next day. It was all goopy and took ages to get out. lulz now about it though, not so much then. I though I was blinded!

at least once a week, at the most three times.

I think it's more to do with you having such thin dreads. I think the thinner they are the more they shrink. compared to a fat dread it makes perfect sense in my head anyway.

 

maybe thats it! I think when their fatter they have more form or maybe they are too heavy to shrink? maybe I'm thinking about it too much..

 

Yeah thin dreads would shrink because there's not enough hair to dread. Well there is.. I'm stoned I'm not exactly good with words. Ooooh 10 days til I'm a post a much needed update. Stop thinking Lux, teh ugleh glasses made you stoopids

 

10 days, why 10 days? They def have thickened since. fogot this picture which shows them out&about. I cropped them to get a better look. the photos from today were after I washed. I find they look thin till they fully dry and fluff out.

Mine are the same age and some of my dreads are crazy but the thicker congos are pretty normal except at the tips which are all kinds of loopy.

 

Because it's my graduation ceremony. So excited for the photo's and the sushi dinner afterwards. I love the colour of your hair. Are you still using Lush?
