i can fake it with my college degree and whatnot. but really, all i learned in college was that a bong before class really helps with that daily hangover..
In the "have a piece of paper on my wall that matters" fashion, no in the "smartest guy in most rooms" fashion, yes. and it's not how I define it that matters, everyone has their own set of floating parameters, so it's just easier to deal with theirs.
lol. i dunno, i wouldn't call myself "uneducated." not really "educated" either though. i guess i'd define educated as someone with at least some sort of 4 year degree.
in certain fields, yes i am. in others, no i'm far from being educated, but i know i have the smarts to be educated if i chose to be.
Yes, by pieces of paper, and the fact that i still want to learn about things, so i try to read a varied assortment of books (novels, Bible studies, How-To for gardening, crocheting, etc.), magazines (NewsMax, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Martha Stewart Living, Crochet Today, etc.), and on-line links (like in posts, but also like Dave's Garden, some various news places, e-mail subscriptions, etc.). The truth is, all of y'all that are doing the reading, researching, and recognizing what IS, and what Is NOT, from the links and articles provided in HF's "Experts" posts, and other sources, you're educating your own selves!!! :sifone: And believe me ~ self-education is ALWAYS preferable to formal education, mainly 'cuz you are interested, and actually want to know.
Stop living in the past; the brazilian cast system is dead Welcome to america where intellectual achievement is appreciated, respected, and colorblind Hotwater
No, not yet. My definition of education would have to be not only learning from second hand experiences, but going out and learning about the world for yourself. And I obviously haven't done that yet One day I will be well educated
I consider myself educated, but not in the "I went to school for fifteen years" sense of the word. I read up and educate myself on the things that interest me, I've got a few certificates and am soon to get more, and I've got a lot of practical experience in a bunch of different fields. My definition of educated is having theoretical and practical experience and knowledge of whatever it is you wish to educate yourself on.
I graduated from a really good college and have some graduate and CEU work done...so I guess I am educated in the traditional sense. I also have a lot of life experience and have interacted closely with other cultures. Staying open minded during those experiences is what makes me feel I am truly educated. I am also a new's junkie...so I am always pretty informed. I don;t like to find myself in conversations I am not familiar with. I like to abreast of what's going on. I think I might trade beign educated for common snese though. It's hard to learn. Luckily I tied myself to a tree with deep, old and wise roots.
i`m in the middle. i for sure don`t feel dumb, but i know i still have to find out and learn many things.
