if you go into sound and device then go to the last tab that says hardware and see if theirs any caution signs next to the devices listed
It's a driver problem. Either you bought your PC in a store, pre-assembled, or you have a dedicated sound card. The first is far more likely. If you have a desktop PC just google the make and model and the companie's website will have the drivers for you PC model. Hopefully.
I got rid of that ares program, I went into seach on my computer and clicked delete My step dad said he had the same problem on his laptop
It has nothing to do with ares. Drivers are programs written to take analog signals from devices, and in your case a sound card, and convert it into something the rest of your system can understand and process. They are usually easy fixes, if your step dad has seen it before it should be no problem at all.
then why did you tell us you deleted it? And chances are you did that wrong too, deleting programs and uninstalling them are two different things, when you delete something like you did you leave hooks that just clutter you hard drive up.
I did uninstall it I went into add and remove programs and it said it uninstalled it. but the icon was still their so I had to delete it

Well, I definitely don't feel like reading through all the posts to see if anyone has said this already but... I'm not sure what music downloading thing your using that would be effected by your sound device. By far the easiest and best way of downloading music is torrents. As for deleting programs. From the sound of it you did delete the program. Sometimes when you delete a program, the icon may still be on your desktop or start menu, there may even be a folder in your program folder (although it will be empty), however the actual program will be gone, and the only space being taken up would be maybe a couple bytes. Just delete those things.
You know where it says you’re connected to the Internet right next to the time,the icon was still there and I click it and the site came right up, that's how I know it was still their
ya im going with what they said. your driver got uninstalled or wasnt ever installed. Its a bitch to get the right one but it might come in a pack that installs itself in the right place. Then you just have to activate it.
How do I do that? I wanted to make a cd before my step dad comes back into town, he would have a fit if he knew I was making a cd off the Internet
