I have "Illinois" It's... different. There's something offbeat about it ya know? I'll have to give it more listening, but i like the chill vibe
I wouldn't call Illinoise 'chill'... but then it does suit coffee shops very well. I actually started listening to this again just recently and I still think it's brilliant-- the lyrics, the music, the sequencing, the concept... everything. I would say it's one of the most well thought-out albums I've ever heard. And there's no Christianity involved. It's sort of a shame that his other albums aren't so exciting. Actually, they bore the hell out of me... some tracks from Seven Swans are good, and a bunch from Michigan, but Illinoise is really the only album worth having.
One of my favorite musicians by far...Seers tower and For the Widows of paradise always have a way of moving me...
