I went to Nutters (local natural shop) to find some essential oils to add to my hair to make em smell purty, but they only had about 8 different ones that had testers. Some of them were lilac and other scents I don't want in my hair....

Where do you go to do some heavy duty oil smelling?

I usually get mine from the local health food store. Some of my fave mixes: peppermint & cypruss, patchouli & mandarin orange, rosemary, sage & lemon.

Bergamot is a nice, light, fresh earthy scent...

I was in evolution with my sis once and they had this "chocolate" "essential oil" (both needed quotes because it was neither chocolate, nor an essential oil) anyway she's says "smell this" and shoves it right in my nose, which merrily deposited a nice dash of it on the end of my nose, I was getting wafts of that chocolate shit for days.

TY everyone. It's frustrating that you can't smell them ahead of time. I discovered that there are essential oil kits that will give you 30 vials or so. I think I may request this as my next bday present. :) I think I'd really enjoy playing with the different smells. Plus i love learning new things.

Out of all the scents mentioned, I think I would like the sage and lemon best, but once mixed, who really knows if I would... Or better yet, if we sell our house quickly, it could be a "selling house" present... hmm... lol

I use an orange blossom oil that I made myself.
Our Damn orange trees have some growth on them, they aren't good for anything but the blossoms..(I need to cut them down and regrow fresh, but I haven't had the heart , and instead have made use of the blossoms)
...but I really love the smell , so it works out.:)

They only oil I have is patchouli but I think I am going to get some orange to mix with it like bcmama suggested. That's 'sounds' greats. I love patchouli though, definitely a favorite smell.

See, I'm not a big patchouli lover, I don't mind it, but do not want it to be the predominate scent... but I'm sure mixed it would be loverly. I told hubby I wanted the oils.. :)

uhvo, it's like the same thing that we are talking about.

Here is a link to one being sold for $3700 http://cgi.ebay.com/2-AROMA-COMPLET...66:2|39:1|72:1205|240:1309|301:1|293:1|294:50

This one only has 39 oils and is much more affordable. http://cgi.ebay.com/39-MAGICAL-ESSE...66:2|39:1|72:1205|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50

Do you live near a Whole Foods, Organic Harvest, Golden Temple or natural food store? They will most likely have them there. I like to use the Aura Cacia brand because they are approved for aromatherapy as well. Might as well benefit while smelling good!

Some scents that I love are Rosewood, Yllang Yllang III, Grapefruit, and Patchouli.
