You know that noise your computer makes when your cell gets a text

    or a call or whatever?
    My computer keeps doing that, and nobody is there. Makes me feel dorky for waiting by my phone.

    My clock radio does it. Drives me crazy when my phone doesn't ring.

    it's because your phone is "handshaking" with the cell to make sure that it's clock is right, that it isn't being hacked, that your service is still valid, etc.

    put it near a big fuckin' stereo and see what happens

    or a t.v.

    what? no. i've never heard that noise. or if i have, it never occurred to me that it may be related to my cell phone. but i'm pretty sure i've just never heard it.

    No, never had that problem, but it happens on the phones at work when people are texting, sometimes it can be annoying!!

    It's lke you hear the text data... lmao.

    I used to have a hi fi with large speakers. It used to make a strange noise for a few seconds before my mobile rang.

    I hate when that happens, especially when I'm in a cafe and it's not even MY phone that's doing it.
