I see a lot of CS fans, everyone should post their steam ID's up.
    steam id : bdmjackle

Desert combat was the shit by the way, if I remember correctly that mod team was actually hired on to help create bf2

And yes desert combat was the shit my favorite MMFPS game ever I liked riding around in the desert rat and fckin taking out helicopters while they landed by driving full speed into them

Also did anyone ever play the battlefield pirate mod? you had scimitars and muskeets and invaded each others ships it was intense

I used to be really into gaming but for some reason in the last couple days I suddenly realized how shallow current games are and now I have much less interest in them.

Like Oblivion, for example. I was really looking forward to trying it because I love open endedness and freedom to do anything in games, but then I loaded the game up and it was incredibly dissapointing. Yeah, you could do anything, if anything was included in lame side quests, wandering around randomly in the woods where there's a dungeon or fort every 50 feet, the main story quest which wasn't even that interesting, etc. Nothing you did really mattered in the world, and the NPCs were all so stiff and lifeless.

Games I used to play a lot though (includes most games I've beaten, since I usually get bored with them before the end):
    GTA IV
COD 4 (sank like 80 hours into the multiplayer on that)
    Zelda series
    Half life 1 and 2
    prince of persia series

Games I really want to try:

Mount and blade. Medieval setting, RPG style stats, no main story. You can literally do whatever you want - go around sacking villages, become a knight in service to a king and wage war (including sieges) on other castles, just go around profiting as a merchant, whatever.

The ship. It's a game where there's a bunch of people on a Titanic like ship. Each one of them has to kill one of the other's, so you always have someone else trying to kill you. But you have to fulfill certain needs, like eating, drinking, pissing, sleeping, and you can't have a weapon out in front of security or cameras or you go to jail for 30 seconds, and same if you kill the wrong person. Weapons are mostly just makeshift things you can find around the ship. Problem is, it's old, and no one plays online anymore, so it's not worth buying since the SP sucks apparently.

Also Darkfall Online or Mortal Online look really promising, but the WoW style of doing things, with really shallow fetch and kill quests doesn't appeal to me at all. Your actions have to really affect things.

My ideal game would be an MMO where there's no levels or classes, everything is player built, so players have to build cities and towns and stuff, set up an economy and a government, and defend themselves against an encroaching threat from monsters or something like that. So kind of a story, but the details of how it plays out are up to the players. They can work together and win, or go around killing each other for fun and all die.

I'm also a fan of RPGs... love me some Zelda, Final Fantasy, loved the Baldur's Gate series (Neverwinter Nights, etc.), Pokemon is pretty fun too :)

I also like simulation games, like Sims 2 or any of the tycoon games. Whoever mentioned Harvest Moon - I love that game too. Lately, I've been playing Curious Village on my DS. All I have time for now are games I can play on the subway, so DS games.

Counter strike, Timesplitters, GTA, Alone in the Dark. I used to play final fantasy waay back in the day, like the first four games I think.

While I got you all here, does anyone remember a game for the NES that had a character named Ryu (i think) where he had a sword, was on a big spaceship and was collecting disks? I loved that game and can't remember what its called.

    Also, who remembers Contra?
