When to switch to the 12/12 light cycle

Ok so I have been growing 8 plants for personal use and they are now about 8 weeks old under 24 hours of light....about 6 inches high ...
Is now the right time to switch to a 12/12 to have them bud?

 

Here's another question. When I am pruning...is it worth smokin' those leaves....or someone told me eat them in a salad you will get a buzz....what's the truth?

 

ur plants are 8wks old and there only 6" high, wot type are u growing? i wud be a bit worried if my plants were ony that big after 8 weeks, and also its suffice 4 ur plants 18 hours of light a day rather than the full 24. wot type of light are u using and is it soil grow????

 

stay away from smokin the leaves there is very little thc in them so ive been told and i wudnt bother eating them in ur salad neither but hey i can only advise u but if u want to try it, knock urself out buddy

 

the leaves have these little tiny spiky things things on them you cant see that will make your tummy hurt, they are also too weak to smoke, do though save them up as they can depending on larfyness be used to make hash of butter.

your babies are too small for 8 weeks, it doesn't seem wise from given information to bud them yet.

Did you start them from seed?....Clones can do 24hr light but from seed it dont grow well............bring them down to 18hr light for 4 weeks then think about 12hr bud cycle..................Dawg

 

Hmm 8 weeks old and only six inches high if ya bloom ya really not got the growth rate to produce any sizable amount of bud. Mj will and can grow from half to one each day. Leaves ok to eat probably the way of doing em. If ya wanna smoke ya leafs yuk dry em out slowly over a few day.
Note. I bin plants that grow that slow not what i'm looking for.

 

You have gone very wrong somewhere if your plants are only 6" at 8 weeks. decribe your set up in detail and mabey we can help you get on track.

only switch to a 12/12 light cycle when your ready to veg. You can keep growing it at the current light cycle for aslong as u want. the plant will just keep growing and yeah. Usually abet 18 weeks is the time to switch. It all depends on if you wanna top the plant? clone it? it all just depends on what you want with the plant. when its big enough you want it to bud thats when you switch the light cycle

 

ALso you cannot get high from just eating weed. It has to be cooked first. Thc has to be heated to be activated. i could go into alot of detail but i wont. in short thc sticks to fat molecules so its fat soluble. So when cooking it you have to cook it with something very fatty to get the thc. You cant just boil water with some buds or throw buds in brownies. The best 2 methods would be cannamilk which can be thrown into coffee or anything with milk. Or cannabutter which can be put in or on anything instead of butter like brownies or cookies.

The whole plant will have thc in it but most of its in the buds. The best thing is to harvest the buds then scrap the rest of the plant and either cook it down or turn it into iso hash.

 

What size pots are they in?

 

technically I think you can flower any time by switching to 12 12. I would wait at least another month. Seems like you have the wrong lights....
