Been many years since I've used any water softening filters but by ro u mean reverse ozmosis maybe that needs changing thats could be another source of toxins. Things moved on but as i remember it with any water softening filter once they reach the end of there life span they can leak the chemicals they once filtered out back into the water namely metals and the like. Just a thought.
Well i don't think it's an issue of too little mg. It's an issue of why i need mg. I added the 2 tsp per gal. calmag. that is the recommend full dose. It helped, However today I am not so bummed. I realized i can do everything i can do. i have four plants on flora nova. no additives and no folier feed. They look exactly the same. No matter what i give them in nutrients, they all die together =( I can safely and confidently say. I's not what i give them. I would have a harty crop. I can tell because I've had one before. THe water and nutrients are totally ruled out. I have old bulbs but there is no evidence that every bulb would go bad at one time and do this. There is nothing I'm doing now that is different from my norm. Since the problem encompasses the whole room, regardless of medium and nutrients, I'm leaning to the toxicity vapors. i read this scientific paper about toxicity in plants. What i got from it with my drop out(proud of it) mind was that prolonged exposure to chemical vapors will damage plants. These babies were living in it. I can't think of anything else and no one knows about the subject. The mango is going to be flushed and ready to trim withiin the week. 3 weeks too early. THe regular lasts longer. It has a longer maturing time of 8 weeks. It may go another week. Three weeks too early. I'm giving it gh 1+1+1, cal mag, That is what they liked before this, If they leaf out? Oh well it means they actually took in nuts. The plants are about 10% yellower today. The lower leaves out of the light are discoloring and so is the awesome one in dirt. I'll keep posting and listening and looking for answers.
Thanks, They are done. I'm just waiting to trim. No real harvest. no obvious explanation other than the possible toxicity. Not to be personal but I've been having health issues as well. I went to a natural Dr and he asked what chemicals I'd been exposed to. He also said i was low in magnesium. I said " you don't even know". So I'm detoxing and so is the room. I'll update in case anyone as dumb as me has toxin problems, if that is indeed my prob.
Update: While waiting for these babes to die. I keep waiting, waiting, waiting. I now see bud progression while the leaves die. The mango's buds are actually containing green as in greener. Looks like the are rebounding. But we'll see. Toxicity may have been it. Crossing fingers.
Follow up. Air Toxicity is real. My crops are back to normal after a year of stress and torture. Do not let your plants breath toxins. If it doesn't kill them it will compromise the quality. Air toxicity resembles Mg deficiency. Mg is used by the plant to help get rid of toxins. If you have Mg deficiency signs and you believe you could have had your plants exposed to air toxins(in my case it was painting supplies) you can try to increase the dose of Mg. It will help but it may be two late. It took my plants over two weeks to show improvement but it was too late. I had a 30% harvest. Thanks to all who helped me with this even though no one guessed it, and I hope this will help someone in kind. Feels good to be back.
