Got that Rib Piece Started!!!

Alrighty...maybe some of you remember I posted my tat concept of the snake in a cherry-blossom tree a month or so ago. Well I got it started yesterday.
Sat for 2 hours, 45 minutes...got the whole outline done!
It was excruciating, I'm not gonna lie. And I have a decently high pain tolerance to needles, but I cried twice during this session. Once I got down a good breathing technique (a little more than half-way through) it was a bit more bearable.
Anyway, the artist did an AMAZING job. His name is Andrew and he works at Renaissance Tattoo in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He grew up with my bf and has been doing his tats for 12 years now...so since they are good friends I got a killer deal.
He guessed about 5-6 more sessions to do the coloring and details in the snake scales and such. Next sessions will be much easier. Outlines are a bitch!

I bet the hipbone hurt ya! Haha. That was the most painful part of my tattoo!

Yeah the hipbone was horrific. And where the snake-head is was pretty awful too. Those were the worst two spots.

I saw the drawing of the tattoo when you posted it, and I meant to ask then but forgot.. do you ever draw tattoo designs for other people?

 

Thanks hun! Yeah, I'm sooo psyched for the color. The tat has a lot going on and it will make a lot more sense once the color scheme I want is implemented.

Wow Beautiful. I have a few tattoos. Id like to get a bigger piece... but I dont think my pain tolerance is high enough, to stand such an intense piece like yours. Very Nice

 

Narcotics help with the tolerance. lol

 

I took Opana before hand. One of the strongest opiates known to man. As soon as the needle hit the skin I felt totally sober. Haha. I'm sure it helped, but no amount of drugs could have made that feel okay. If I wouldn't have taken the O, I probably would have passed out, lol.

 

That looks amazing. I've seen grown ass men nearly in tears from rib pieces, ur a tough cookie.

 

awesome. Side tats are sexy. Your artist must love your skin..so pale and clean. The colour is going to pop like mad!
