i made rigatoni with chunks of italian sausage and tomato sauce and some shredded parmesan cheese and a caesar salad (well, sort of, i think traditionally caesars are made with just romaine lettuce but this was mixed baby greens)

I made chicken stock yesterday which means I have almost a week's supply of tender meat to use in sandwiches. I'm going to make my own mayonaisse and have chicken salad sangers/sarnies/bofties/baps, and I'm also making creamy swede soup.

    ...huh?

i'm excited, cause i bought a chicken today at the grocery. i dont know why i never thought of it before, but buying whole chickens is so much cheaper than buying just chicken breasts or even packages of drumsticks.

plus its just so much more impressive to serve a whole roasted bird when you have guests, so thats an added bonus :p

but this will be a couple days worth of meat for my sister and i, and for less than five dollars. once we've picked most of the meat off of the carcass, we can boil the rest off of the bones, remove the bones, and cook wild rice in the broth with all the bits of meat that we couldnt get off with a knife. that should be great :)

    Mana Hama.

    I grilled Kebabs earlier.

This thread always weirds me out.

I eat my big meal for lunch, I usually just eat something small for dinner.

thats healthier. i'm just used to eating a big meal in the evening.

except with sundays. i grew up with sunday dinners after church, around 1 in the afternoon.

i'm totally able to eat my big meal earlier, i'm just not accustomed to it.

    whats mana hama?

Whole chickens are wonderful, especially skinny free range ones. Its good to get a full range of flavours from different parts of the chicken...and that wild rice idea sounds great.

Have you ever made your own stock? I just can't emphasize how it adds flavour to dishes that can't be found anywhere else.

Sangers/sarnies/bofties/baps are just different words for sandwich or roll in Australia and the UK.

I'm not really going for healthy, but I guess it's good to know that it is healthy. Something to counteract the shit food and the smoking.

Lunch is at 4 in the afternoon for me, yet I live on my own schedule outside of society's standards.

I've always really liked the lots of small meals a day thing. Works out the best for me.

Mana Hama are Israeli cup noodle foods. Taste better than any other cup noodle bowl you will ever find anywhere. I actually got my mom to bring me some back from Israel.
