UK superheros?

i was wondering something this morning. are there any uk superheros who rescue people all the time in the uk? that is in the comic book world. my husband said that there was an equivalent to superman. but we cannot think of the name.

I'm not sure if Dr. who is a superhero or not. He could just be a lost old hippy..

Zenith.

This was a series in 2000AD a few years back. Zenith was the British superhero offspring of 1960s Hippy superhero parents !

V from V for Vendetta (Surprised nobody mentioned him already)

 

He isn't a "Superhero" he is an "Anti-Hero"

 

But he has super-powers. He has artificially enhanced physiology, reflexes and mental capacity.

If not a hero, he is still certainly 'super'.

 

Meh, he's read a few books, so have I.
