Just thought i would share my creation with everyone, Its been a long month but i have finaly finished one of my D.J projects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOMKAvZQlIY There is no vid, just a trippy photo i made on my webcam, Its actually going to be my album cover and the audio. This track is 100% mine, no other songs or any other persons music has been used or mixed into the track.:cheers2:
Nice, but I still don't get that music. Do you just find a bunch of different sounds and fuse them together? Seems tedious but not really all that difficult or am I missing something
I don't really like it but don't take it too personally because I'm a music snob. I just think it is repetitive and unoriginal. But I like progressive rock. And I prefer D&B to electronica.
To get the music, well you have to like electronic music, simple as that, its a required taste thats getting bigger and better every year. As for the sounds, some are samples i was givin (6-12 sec long sounds) others i made from scratch using 4 different synthesizers. As for tedious, It may seem to you but festivals i go to see it differently considering you got 10,000+ people dancing to your music, so like i said electronic music is not for everyone, myself i am a independent D.J, its my hobby soon to be career so no its not the least bit tedious to my ears. As for not all that difficult, your you have obviously not tried to make a trance song from scratch. This 1 track 5 mins in leangth took me a month to create, as there is no other persons song mixed in, meaning i had to get the beats and timing right, matching at 141 bpm (Beats Per Minute) which in itself is a timely and complex task, if just one little sound or beat is off it throws off everything else and nothing is in sync, the other factor is creating my own sounds from scratch, i dont know if you have ever tried to use a synthesiser but its not a simple task to create the right sound in 5 minutes, it takes hours sometimes days, Then finaly after i created all the sounds i have to sync them in with the rest of the song, then edit the track section by section until i feel cool with the final outcome. As for this track it was difficult, some beats were naturaly 120 bpm so i had to manually adjust the tempo to match the beats at 141 bpm, there are parts of the song where it is still flawed, but its usually 1-2 seconds off then re syncs. So yeah, bottom line, its difficult, but a very fun difficult, most of the time i just go with the vibes in the air and open my mind and heart and the rest is pure bliss, For me its spiritual, just as guitar used to be for me, i played 13 years and eventually got sick of it, it just felt like it had been done already, i wanted something unique and fresh, so i got into psytrance, Its not everyones piece of cake, but hey, thats no reason not to share my art with the world, and it feels good to contribute to the musical community.
Thanks for clearing that up. I said I didn't know anything about it or how it was done. I would never do it myself, not into stuff like that. But good job on finally getting it finished the way you like it
Thanx, i didnt take offense, just helping others understand where im coming from as well, when it comes to music i welcome just as much critisism as complements, helps me create and teaches me from another perspective.
Not at all considering im a father and work part time, Not everyone has time to sit on there ass and do nothing you know, i work on my projects when i can, therefore it takes me up to a month sometimes. As for how long have i been producing, Ive been around d.j's since i was 16 im 25 now but ive only got into making my own stuff a few years back.
not really lol I'm not familiar with this kind of music but I know the stuff I do can take way longer
It depends on how many hours you put into it pat. I know quite a few successfull people who produce electronic music and im sure they can put a track together in 10 hours or less.
Yep. I know some engineers who take a few months to mix one track. But they can have 24 tracks to work with. Electronic stuff sounds like it would slighty simpler
Yeah, well I wouldn't say simple because I know its not, I think its just getting good with whatever program there using and the synth's. Either way I would still say it takes alot of time and dedication to get to that point.
It sounds really sick, man. Also, as a guitarist and musician I know it can take a long fucking time to get it the way it sounds in my head. Just getting my fingers to play the "twiddley doo bwing wow " sound that my guitar wants to play is hard cuz my fingers have only been practicing an hour a day for just a year. Take your good ol' fucking time is waht I mean to say, cuz Mozart didn't write a symphony in a day. props to all yall
