So You Think You Want To Start Growing

There is one thing that I have noticed on this forum that really bothers me. Alot of the threads are started by people who really don't know anything about plant growth. Getting a good book is definitely a good way to go but you know what you can also start doing is watching gardening shows on TV.
Last night I was watching a gardening show that was illustrating how to get your perennials ready for spring. Cloning and general care and maintenance were discussed and it surprised me how well it related to cannabis. Remove the plant that they were using and replace it with a cannabis plant and it would be exactly the same with only a few exceptions.

Agree ^^^ cannabis is much the same as any other plant you only need to know the basic rules of plant growing to get a good start. plenty of good guides on the net though especially on some of the seed suppliers sites.

The unfortunate thing about all these good guides is that people have to read them. Most of them are very extensive and I really think alot of people are just too lazy so- watch it on tv. Just replace the name of the plant they are illustrating and put in the word cannabis.

im new here but i was in another forum for years. on the top of the grow post page they had there grow bible they called it. when i 1st started i was useing incandesent lights and i had yellow plants 4ft tall and around 10 leaves. man i was lost and full of i want to knows.i wish i still had those pics! i havent been here long and maybe i havent seen or looked hard enough for the basic grow info thats just lade out for all the newbes.what we did was just direct the new growers to the grow bible at the top of the grow page.

 

is that forum still up and running? what's the website?

illinois has hemp usage but i don't think there really close to allowing anything else yet. but i'm trying to start growing so hopefully weed will be readily available to me anytime i want it pretty soon

 

nice, I would love to be able to grow industrial hemp, but thats also not legal here... rediculousness I say!

this site has a great walkthrough from germination all the way to the curing stage. very basic guide aimed for the low scale 'just enough to get by' grower.

One of the biggest problems with growing guides is quite a few of them seem to be produced by copying and pasting stuff from else wear and after about ya third guide reading you get fed up with reading the stuff over and over again or worse still ya think ya know everything it.
